"Admiral is looking for a Domain Lead within the Platform Services Technology area, responsible for the management of the Network domain. A major transformation programme is underway, and the successful candidate will help the team deliver a successful outcome.
The Domain Lead is a part of the Leadership at a team level, working alongside the Technical Lead and the Scrum Master (where applicable) to ensure achievement of the team’s OKRs. The Domain Lead has overall accountability for the successful delivery of the work that the team has committed to support the external Tribes and / or other customers. The Domain Lead is responsible for assisting the team to deliver value, achieved by understanding the customer needs through external Tribe events and other stakeholder engagements, escalating organizational impediments, managing risk and driving a culture of continuous improvement. The Domain Lead also has line management responsibility for the Technical Lead and Engineers within the team and will have a mindset of delivering to promises whilst balancing the needs of the team.
Accountabilities
- Accountable and owns KPIs/OKRs for the team and maximises the team’s ability to deliver these
- Accountable owner and role model for living the following values: productivity, quality, transparency, and openness over internal politics
- Accountable for providing open and effective communication channels leading to greater knowledge transfer within the team and across Platform Services
- Accountable for owning and managing risks, issues and dependencies at team level
- Accountable for understanding operating within budgets and ensuring adherence to Guardrails at team level
- Accountable for maintaining and facilitating team level resource plans, forecasts future resource requirements and working with Service Owner, Technical Lead and Scrum Master to agree future resourcing strategies
Responsibilities
- Responsible for providing line management duties for Technical Leads and Engineers with a view to focussing on coaching and mentoring techniques that align to both agile principles and Admiral Values.
- Responsible for identifying, supporting and advising on enterprise level 3rd party service providers when required through effective procurement and SLA management practices and controls.
- Responsible for identifying, measuring and reporting ROI across team based on team performance
- Alongside the Senior Service Owner, takes responsibility for delivering strategic business outcomes through delivery of services to the external Tribes and other internal customer
- Responsible for identifying, tracking, removing and escalating impediments and blockers at team level to maintain both pace and flow of value.
- Responsible for ensuring team level ceremonies such as Monthly Planning and Weekly Scrum of Scrums are conducted focusing on value return
- Responsible for development, operational maintenance and facilitation of team level resource plans, forecasts future resource requirements, working with Scrum Masters and Technical Leads and other Platform Services Domain Leads to agree future resourcing strategies
- Responsible for coaching, mentoring and guiding Scrum Masters with day-to-day activities
- Responsible for driving collaboration and continuous improvement mind-set across the team
- Responsible for constructing clear and concise communication channels within and across the team resulting in transparency and openness
Knowledge and Experience Required
- Knowledge and experience in Scrum development practices through BDD/TDD using associated tools for testing and continuous integration & deployment
- Knowledge and experience operating within enterprise scale network technology
- Knowledge and experience (5yrs+) operating within:
- Cisco Networks
- Palo Alto Networks
- F5 Networks
- Other LAN/WAN technologies
- Extensive knowledge and experience with Line management through both coaching and mentoring techniques
- Experience operating within heavily regulated environments including external regulated consumer products and service offerings
- Knowledge of identification and management of specific engineering, design and testing standards and practices that comply with internal organisation IT governance and architectural standards within a heavily regulated environment
- Knowledge and experience with design & development of LAN/WAN technology and architectures
- Extensive knowledge and experience with 3rd party service providers including facilitation of RFP, onboarding, and performance management (design of SLA and overall KPI)
- Experience and awareness of IT architectural governance, standards and methodology
- Experience and awareness of CISO governance frameworks, standards, controls and auditing documentation covering both business and technology solutions currently within product backlogs
- Extensive experience with project management fundamentals with the ability to apply principles, tools and techniques to develop/plan, manage or execute projects to ensure successful completion.
- Knowledge and experience in the use of tools such as: Jira, Confluence etc.

- SAFe® 5 Agilist certification
- Scrum Master certification (CSM Certified Scrum Master, PSM – Professional Scrum Master)
