Job Description

We are looking for a hardworking and enthusiastic Procurement Executive to join the Supplier Management team for a minimum of 12 months to cover a period of maternity. This is an exciting time to join our team, with the overall purpose of the role to support the Supplier Relationship Manager (SRM) in developing, managing, and enhancing our supply chain to keep pace with our outstanding performance and growth.

Supporting the management and relationships with key allocated suppliers through the lifecycle of contractual agreements, you will work closely with the team in order to ensure optimal contract performance whilst using a range of tools and data to identify and help deliver additional value into the Admiral Home Supply Chain

Working directly with the SRMs and Operational Managers, you will be operating in a highly agile environment, providing exceptional learning, and developing opportunities.

Main Duties

  • Travel required (post pandemic) to supplier and Admiral offices
  • Attend internal and external meetings where required to support, manage and develop ongoing business activities and projects
  • Maintaining a close relationship with internal departments to ensure the correct levels of support are provided
  • Acting as a subject matter expert and referral point for claims handling colleagues
  • Collaborate with staff, senior management and other departments to share information, problem solve and identify areas of improvement
  • Establish and build strong working relationships with our supply chain partners
  • Identify opportunities to drive value and improve performance of existing and potential suppliers
  • Assist with proof of concept activities, benchmarking and commercial and operational optimisation tasks
  • Ensure the wider department has a thorough understanding of our contractual positions at all times, relaying changes and developments in a timely, consistent manner
  • Work closely with our solutions team in order to produce and analyse management information (MI) in order to identify areas of interest or concern and to ensure adherence to contractual metrics
  • Review existing supplier arrangements for Household claims categories in order to identify ways to improve innovation in processes, reduce costs, manage and reduce risk and stimulate performance improvement
  • Take an active lead in the overall management of lower value contracts
  • Assist in negotiation and renegotiation of commercial agreements
  • Maintain commercial market awareness of the household market and associated categories

Key Skills, Qualifications and Experience

ESSENTIAL

  • Overall understanding of principles of insurance and claims handling
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Highly developed organisation skills
  • Ability to work flexibly, use own initiative and work pro-actively on developing and changing demands
  • Ability to work as part of a team and contribute towards shared goals
  • Strong IT literacy skills
  • Ability to interpret, evaluate and analyse a range of data to draw conclusions and identify trends
  • Robust problem-solving skills – able to establish priorities and communicate them effectively
  • Strong work ethic and desire to deliver a high standard output
  • Ability to organise internal and external workshops, engagement sessions, presentations.

DESIRABLE

  • Household claims handling experience
  • Experience of engaging with suppliers
  • Studying towards CIPS or equivalent qualification
