Paralegal - Confused.com

We are looking for a talented, creative and confident Paralegal to work closely with our In-House Counsel. You’ll have a passion for the law and a curiosity for learning and will create real value.

Primary responsibilities

• Working with our business teams under the supervision of our In-House Counsel to provide support on a variety of legal issues
• Assisting with the review, drafting and execution of a wide range of commercial agreements and legal documents
• Adopting a proactive approach to managing legal operations to help establish, evaluate and improve processes
• Being a point of contact for ad-hoc legal queries and ensuring that requests are addressed in a timely manner
• Organising and managing legal matters  Assisting with maintaining our company books and company secretarial duties
• Helping to manage legal spend and working with external providers
• Assisting with general administrative duties when required

Candidate profile

•  A minimum of a 2.1 in an English law degree or a non-law degree (but having received at least a minimum of a Commendation in the Graduate Diploma in Law (GDL))
• An appetite to qualify as a solicitor practising in England and Wales
•  Experience of working in a law firm or in-house legal department is a plus
• Passion for the law and learning – you have a genuine interest in the law and a curiosity to learn and apply what you have learnt in what you do  Outstanding communication skills – you make the complex simple, concise and digestible
• Meticulous attention to detail, but you have a bias to action and get stuff done
•  The ability to operate independently and effectively in a dynamic environment and to navigate amid uncertainty
•  A can-do, problem-solving attitude – solving the problem is just as important as identifying the risk

What we’ll give back to you

For candidates who demonstrate exceptional performance in the role, there is the possibility for you to undertake a training contract / qualifying work experience (under the SQE) with us, subject to you having completed the pre-requisite qualifications (such as the LPC for a training contract).
