Are you passionate about communication and engagement? Organised and driven? Excited about outreach and event planning? Then this may be the role for you.

We are investing in creating a Data Academy to support our Data Community. Providing data training and career pathways to those in data roles and uplifting data literacy throughout the organisation.

There are around 400 people in data roles across Admiral and the Data Community will bring together over 15 teams. Communication, collaboration and networking are important to the Data Community and we’re looking for someone to help enable this. We are looking for an Engagement and Content Officer to help communicate with our Data Community through engaging events, monthly newsletters, Teams channel and SharePoint page. This will be a challenging but rewarding role and a unique opportunity to join a brand-new team!

What you can expect

  • Working closely with Senior Managers across the business and over 15 data teams
  • To lead our communications strategy and own the Community Calendar to bring together our 400 strong Data Community
  • To be a part of a brand new department and to build it from the start with Data Academy being a key focus for Admiral 2.0
  • Support from the Data Academy team, and wider Communications team throughout

What you'll be working on

  • Creating our communications strategy and community calendar helping deliver these using various tools and methods
  • Creating engaging content such as articles, surveys, our Monthly Newsletter, and business-wide communications
  • Maintaining the Data Academy intranet and SharePoint pages and uploading content to iLearn
  • Researching and making suggestions for new ways to engage with the business using alternative communication tools and methods available
  • Analysing feedback across our channels and provide recommendations for improvement
  • Leading on our community events and awars from planning to delivery 
  • Working alongside the Heads of Department in other ad-hoc tasks and initiatives to support the department’s ongoing communications, training and development programme

This is not a full definition of the role but covers the main aspects and drivers for success.

What we neeed from you

  • Demonstrable experience in a similar role where MS Office has been heavily used
  • Experience of arranging events with a good attendance rate
  • Well organised, personable and an independent worker
  • Creative when pulling together content and sharing it in a way that makes others want to read
  • Excellent communication skills (verbally and written) and confident communicating with people around the business in different roles
  • You will be flexible and reliable with a happy to help attitude
  • Reliable working on several projects at once with an ability to prioritise
  • Ability to build effective working relationships across the business.

Location / Hybrid working

We are working in a hybrid approach and so are in the office approximately twice per week in Cardiff. However, we are open to discussing flexibility around this (UK only). We will provide you with everything you need to work comfortably from home.

We do not have a set salary for this position, as it will be dependent on the successful candidate’s experience. We are happy to see CVs from all candidates who meet the requirements and will be happy to discuss the remuneration package.
