Sustainability

Building a sustainable future for our customers, our people, our business, and the communities we belong to.

We care deeply about doing the right thing, and our approach to sustainability reflects that. It’s built into everything we do, from the way we support our customers and colleagues to the way we shape our products and policies.

Our purpose is at the heart of it all. It guides how we work and helps us create the best possible outcomes for everyone who depends on us.

Environment

As an insurer, we understand the impact climate change will have on our customers, teams and wider communities.

While we support our customers of today, we also have a responsibility to protect our customers and communities of tomorrow - and it’s not one that we take lightly.

That means being a responsible business in everything we do, whether that’s reducing our impact on the environment, paying our fair share of tax, or supporting the local areas where we work.

We’re backing the shift to a greener economy, and have set ourselves the goal of reaching net zero by 2040. We’re using the Net Zero Investment Framework, shaped by the Paris Aligned Investment Initiative, to guide us.

We’re serious about following the latest climate science to shrink our carbon footprint, and right across the Group, our people are stepping up through our Sustainability and Climate Change Working Groups. We’re proud to say that 65% of our energy already comes from renewable sources, and we’re working to push that even further.

Our Communities

Together For Better is our Group commitment to transform the lives of people outside of Admiral. Our local communities have nurtured our business and our people, and we’re passionate about sharing our success and giving back.

We encourage and support our colleagues to donate their time and skills, with benefits like two paid volunteering days per year.

We’re really proud that our community and charity work is led by our colleagues. They’re the ones who choose the local charities and organisations we partner with.

It means the relationships we build are genuine and grounded in what matters to our people, helping us make a meaningful difference in the communities we’re part of.

We invest in the needs of our local communities.

In 2024 we committed over £3.3m to community investment projects here in Wales, in the UK and all over the world.

Whether it’s creating greener schools in Wales, helping flood-affected communities in Spain get back on their feet, or supporting students in Canada, we’ll always step up to help where we can.

We offer two paid volunteer days per colleague, per year.

In 2024 our amazing colleagues completed over 32,500 hours ‘Impact Hours, volunteering their skills and time to make a difference in our communities.
