The journey started when we launched unsecured personal loans in June 2017. We went on to be the first direct to consumer car finance provider in December 2017. Since then, we have gone from strength to strength and have some exciting plans for the future.
We’re looking for people who are keen to learn, excited about getting stuck in and are ready for a challenge to help us to achieve our aim of creating a special lending business for our customers.
About the role
This role is a subset of the wider data capability being delivered by Admiral Money and focuses on answering the analytical needs of the commercial arms of the organisation, assessing market data, historical and emerging trends, and correlated behaviours to identify opportunities for growth or improved performance within the customer journey. Reporting to the Analytics Chapter Lead and directly responsible for serving all analytical requirements for one business domain, you will be the lynchpin between the business and the data., communicating the insights beneath the numbers.
Responsibilities
- Delivering timely, insight driven analysis to support the commercial team’s ability to take decisions based on robust and expansive views of the market, existing performance, and future opportunities and risks.
- Working alongside the Data Engineering, BI, and Data Science teams, interface directly with the operational and supporting business teams, enabling them to go beneath the surface numbers to identify the trends, opportunities, and levers which can be adjusted to drive commercial success.
- Business Partnering - Working with the business to understand their challenges in extracting insight from the data, translating these into analytical questions which you can answer to drive business growth
- Tools and processes - Ensure that the analytics is timely and efficient, and enables colleagues to quickly make decisions based on all the relevant information
- Driving data literacy - Making the business more comfortable with analytical and statistical methods, and supporting their ability to use these to drive efficiency and growth
- Engagement & Presentation - You will actively keep abreast of new trends and developments in technology and data analytics. You will promote the use of data and analytics as a key part of our strategic development. You will present insight and learnings in an accessible but compelling way to enable our business leads to make well-informed decisions
- Support the progression of junior analysts and BI team members through mentoring and development, using a combination of challenge sessions, peer review, and pair programming to upskill the wider analytics team
- Building innovative and effective approaches to solve analytical problems, work directly with the operational and commercial teams to determine testable hypotheses, query, shape, and derive insight from the data and provide clear and compelling recommendations for future action
Requirements
- Experience in an analytical role within a banking or consumer lending organisation
- Strong working knowledge of analytical technical languages (R or Python) and visualisation tools (Microsoft PowerBI/ D3 / Matplotlib/Seaborn)
- Solid SQL knowledge (PostgreSQL or Amazon Redshift ideal) and an ability to drive query performance and efficiency.
- Strong working knowledge of mathematical and statistical concepts
- Experience in Agile delivery methodologies, particularly SCRUM or Kanban

Salary, Benefits and Work-Life Balance
We do not have a set salary for this position, as it will be dependent on the successful candidate’s experience. We are happy to see CVs from all candidates who meet the requirements and will be happy to discuss the remuneration package.
