Department Vision 

Admiral Data & Technology has a long history of supporting the business to innovate and bring new products to market. The department continues to build on top of and around the core systems to bring more innovation and technical excellence, including Cloud adoption, big data technologies and furthering our digital offerings.  The Portfolio Management Office (PMO) helps to support and deliver the vision, through facilitating Leadership to make informed decisions and deliver high quality changes using lean governance.  We have a hybrid portfolio of Agile delivery, Value Streams and traditional Projects that the team support with all assurance activities.

The Role

We’re looking for someone who enjoys working in a hands-on PMO role with a passion for supporting the delivery of change, whilst keeping things lean and fast paced.  You will be aligned to a strategic Programme and undertake activities such as reporting, information management, financial tracking, risk/issue management, change control and maintaining governance standards.  Your main focus however will be on quality and assurance during all aspects of delivery.

You will be supporting a number of programmes within the Data & Technology Group, there will be opportunity to help us shape and grow the PMO function.  You will be encouraged to identify opportunities to reduce governance overheads whilst ensuring the Programmes/ Projects still meet their minimum requirements.

Your responsibilities:

  • Play the role of critical friend to your delivery stakeholders
  • Working with a Programme to implement a Quality Assurance strategy;
    • Define and support governance.
    • Provide assurance with the project framework standards.
    • Identify and analyse key gaps relating to quality and drive improvement activities to close gaps.
  • Produce and track project timelines, schedules, resource & financials.
  • Communication, management and escalation of Milestone Plans, Risks, Issues, Dependencies and Actions (RAID).
  • Support tracking of Objectives and Key Results (OKRs) or key metrics agreed by Leadership.
  • Facilitate key Programme checkpoints and meetings.
  • Support any PMO interactions with the wider business.
  • Provide quality information on Programme progress to the Portfolio Office.
  • Drive transparency, collaboration and continuous improvement mind-set with the PMO.

Skills & Experience 

As you’ll be working within a key strategic programme you have solid experience in a hands-on Programme support role.  You will have a good background in both waterfall and agile practices and ways of working with an enthusiasm for stakeholder support and quality assurance. 

You will have experience in project resource planning and reporting, RAID management, and comprehensive quality checks.  You are very detailed orientated and possess excellent time management and organisational skills to be able to work across different projects within the Programme.  You will be happy to assess other people’s work and deliver feedback in a supportive and productive manner.  Working with people to identify and analyse any quality concerns, suggesting solutions and improvement measures.

You will be proficient using tools such as Jira, Confluence, MS Office Suite, and PowerBI.

Salary, Benefits, and Work-Life Balance
