We are looking for people who are passionate about protecting the interests of both Admiral and our customers. You will be dealing with a varied and interesting portfolio of claims investigations and that may include injury claims such as dog bites, slips, trips or falls, as well as property damage claims.

Whilst we are looking for people with relevant claims experience, we also believe in investing in our people’s ongoing professional and technical development. Successful candidates will therefore not only attend our excellent onboarding training, but they will also have access to a wide range of ongoing professional development opportunities, including externally accredited courses.

Flexibility and work life balance is important to us, and so your time will be split between home (80%) and the office (20%) which will usually mean two days a week in the office. There is however the option for you to work more frequently from the office if this is your preference.

We recognise that applicants for this role will come with a wide variety of experience. As such, there is no defined starting salary as we aim to provide a competitive remuneration package that is commensurate with the skills of the successful candidates. Also, after a year of being in the company you will be allocated up to £3,600 worth of shares every year.

We are looking for candidates to join our dedicated teams responsible for protecting the interests of our customers:

  • When claims covered by their policy are brought against them; and
  • By seeking to recover the costs of claims against their policies when those costs have been caused by another party.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Identify and manage potential liability and/or recovery claims through to conclusion.
  • Pro-actively manage a caseload of claims whilst keeping our customers up to date throughout the process.
  • Ensuring that your claims are accurately reserved in line with our reserving philosophy.
  • Defending allegations of negligence when our customer is not at fault.
  • Negotiating settlement of costs with the relevant third parties when applicable.
  • Maintain a good working relationship with all teams across the department.
  • Liaise and work closely with our panel solicitors.
  • Stay up to date with legal aspects of liability.
  • Act as point of contact for the rest of the department in respect of liability and/or recovery matters.
  • Perform any other duties as reasonably requested and according to the needs of the Household Claims department or the company to ensure business targets are achieved.

Experience

The desired candidate would have a background in liability claims and/or personal injury claims and/or recovery claims although this is not essential. It would be advantageous if you were aware of the types of claims and scenarios that a home insurer may be held liable for and the types of claims and scenarios where a recovery may be possible.
