As a Product Owner, you will report into the Product Lead or Senior Product Owner supporting changes to Guidewire platforms. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of the newly formed Claims Value Stream Product Team, responsible for the ideation and prioritisation of the Claims Value Stream and Agile Release Trains (ART). The Product Owner is key to shaping the future of Claims.

Working within a safe scaled agile structure you will be ensuring that we prioritise our roadmap in line with our customer needs and therefore ensuring the success of our business. The Scaled Agile landscape is an ever-evolving way of working with IT development teams to ensure that we are delivering efficient customer centric change fast. 

Job Purpose

The Claims Product Owner will support the prioritisation of the claims backlog within their ART, ensure that the requirements are accurate for the IT development team, and that the customer remains at the forefront of all the change we implement.  

As a Product Owner, you would be a key driving force behind product delivery; your presence must be visible, vocal, and objective. You are responsible for representing the customer and department needs, so the ability to communicate the product and project vision is essential.

Opportunities

As part of our Claims Product Owner recruitment, we will be recruiting for the following roles:

Product Owner (Guidewire Claims Centre) – Working with either Household or Motor Claims, the main responsibly of a GWCC Product Owner is to work with the business to understand needs and support the development and delivery of GWCC changes to support our customers and the business.

Digital Product Owner – Working with both Household and Motor Claims, the main responsibility of the Digital Product Owner is delivery of our customer journey through MyAccount. The Digital Product Owner will work very closely with the GWCC Product Owners to ensure fast and efficient journeys that not only benefits our customers, but also suits business needs. 

Migration Product Owner – Working with both Household and Motor Claims, the Migration Product Owner will be part of the iSeries decommissioning programme. They will support migration of Vectus to GWCC working with SMEs and the business throughout pre-inception, inception and delivery.

Main duties

  • Working with Subject Matter Experts to understand their change needs and to gather requirements.
  • Working closely with our key stakeholders to identify change and manage a change roadmap.
  • Bridge the gap between the business and technology domains by working with development teams to uncover problems and identify solutions.
  • Effective stakeholder identification and management
  • Working closely with the IT development team and other tribes to ensure timely and accurate delivery of new functionality.
  • Helping ensure the smooth flow of features through discovery, definition, development, and delivery. 
  • Work with development teams to enable the regular and sustainable delivery of software to Claims.
  • Work with the team to enable fast feedback on delivered work from customers, and the department.
  • Identify key risks and escalate where appropriate.
  • Collating info for business cases and benefit realisation in order to track value of changes and feed into prioritisation.
  • Ensuring the change roadmap is prioritised based on customer/department feedback, sound business value.
  • Play an active role within the Claims Value Steam
  • Effectively manage dependencies between other Value Streams and Shared Services
  • Work closely with the Business Change team to ensure the business are well prepared for any changes you might be delivering, this might include testing, readiness, communication, engagement, permissions, and sanctions.

  • Experience or knowledge of working in an agile development environment.
