About Admiral Money
Admiral Money (AFSL) is an exciting, new division of Admiral Group. We have the freedom and innovation of a small start up with the security of a large parent company, Admiral.
The journey started when we launched unsecured personal loans in June 2017. We went on to be the first direct to consumer car finance provider in December 2017. Since then, we have gone from strength to strength and have some exciting plans for the future.
We’re looking for people who are keen to learn, excited about getting stuck in and are ready for a challenge to help us to achieve our aim of creating a special lending business for our customers.
About the role
The role involves managing referred applications through the full acquisition cycle. This includes fraud, credit and affordability decisioning, as well as customer contact processes. The Underwriter will work on Unsecured Personal Loan and Car Finance (PCP & HP) products and will play a vital role in supporting the business to meet its ambitious growth targets.
The successful candidate will be able to quickly fit into a fast-moving, innovative and high-profile environment. Prior Underwriting experience is not required, and full training will be provided.
Responsibilities
As the Underwriter you will:
- Underwrite referred applications in accordance with Admiral Money policy
- Assess customer supplied documents in order to satisfy fraud, affordability or credit concerns
- Ensure consistent decisions are made within expected timescales
- Understand changes to policy or process and adapting effectively
- Feedback to senior/manager on process improvements
- Directly contact customers via telephony or email where required
Requirements
The successful candidate will ideally have:
- Confidence to challenge existing work practices to ensure we are continuously improving as a team
- Ability to work on their own initiative with excellent time management and organisation skills
- Effective communicating skills with all levels of staff, verbal and written
- Ability to work under pressure and as part of a high performing team
- Positive outlook and able to demonstrate a positive influence on those around you

Salary, Benefits and Work-Life Balance
We do not have a set salary for this position, as it will be dependent on the successful candidate’s experience. We are happy to see CVs from all candidates who meet the requirements and will be happy to discuss the remuneration package.
