About the Role:
The successful candidate will be a key member of the Admiral Money Finance team, reporting to the Financial Controller. This is a 15 month fixed-term secondment, as a result of maternity leave, offering exposure to a broad range of accounting and technical needs as well as exposure to senior members of the team.
The role will include:
- Support the FC in leading the month end process ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting for the business under IFRS
- Working closely with the FP&A team to ensure the accuracy of management information
- Supporting in technical accounting within AFSL including hedging, derivatives and implementation of IFRS standards
- Supporting in the design, implementation and maintenance of financial controls
- Support continual improvement of processes to maintain a strong control environment
- Liaising with third parties including external auditors
- Coaching and developing colleagues within the Financial Reporting team
- Producing and delivering regulatory and financial returns including the year end statutory accounts
- Acting as a representative for the Financial Reporting team in ad-hoc projects and cross-function working group
Essential Skills:
- Self-motivator, proactive in all aspects of the role
- Qualified accountant with strong academic background and at least two years PQE
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- The ability to communicate effectively with, and influence, all types of people
- Intermediate / advanced Excel skills are essential
- SQL coding skills are desirable
