The Group Procurement department is responsible for managing and setting Procurement governance, policies and controls for Admiral Group, with a direct focus on supporting the UK businesses with sourcing of goods and services.

With only 12 members of staff, our small team has a huge focus to identify and deliver value across the supply chain. We work Monday to Friday and boast a wider range of experience and talent within the team and actively share knowledge.

Job Purpose:

As Senior Buyer, you will report to a Group Procurement Manager and will be responsible for a specific business area and Category of spend but will also support the main team. You will be responsible for sourcing goods and services, including tenders, contract renewals, market research, negotiation and contract development, as well as supporting the business area with queries and escalations.

Responsibilities

You will be responsible for the following activities:

  • The sourcing of goods and services with a focus on IT categories.
  • Identifying and managing the appropriate sourcing process to meet the expectation of our customers, governance, and ability to drive value.
  • You will work closely and collaboratively with internal customers leading on tenders and contract renewals.
  • Provide support on the administration of suppliers, this will range from categorising suppliers to assisting the business.
  • You will manage the Supplier due diligence process, monitoring receipt of due diligence questionnaires through to the full evaluation and communicating with our customers to manage and record potential risks.
  • Provide support on the administration of contracts, this will range from updating contracts in the contract management system to reporting contract renewals and updating contract records.
  • Provide support on the raising of purchase requisitions.
  • Offer general support and complete ad-hoc tasks as required by Procurement Managers.

Requirements

You will ideally have;

  • A minimum of 3 years of procurement experience with a strong background in tender management, contract, and supplier management.
  • MCIPS qualified or working towards or willing to achieve the required qualifications.
  • Experience managing medium – high risk tender exercises.
  • Strong stakeholder management experience at a medium to senior level.
  • Experience of using own initiative and working proactively on different tasks, while prioritising your own workload.
  • A strong track record of delivering value.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and IT literate.

We do not have a set salary for this position, as it will be dependent on the successful candidate’s experience. We are happy to see CVs from all candidates who meet the requirements and will be happy to discuss the remuneration package.
