"This is a fantastic opportunity to join the innovative and growing area of Admiral Pet Insurance. Following our in-house launch in 2022, we are continuing to build and deliver a range of functionality to help grow our customer base and improve our customer experience. We deliver change in Pet across online customer journeys, offline agent portal, docs, claims and pricing at all points in the customer life cycle, making this a unique opportunity to learn about all areas of pet insurance. We are looking for a Product Owner to take ownership of our product backlog to help us meet out ambitious product roadmap.
Key responsibilities
As the Product Owner you will:
- Work closely with Pet business team to identify change and translate business needs into requirements for our IT development team.
- Take ownership of our product backlog ensuring change is prioritised based on both business and customer value.
- Be the voice of our customer, ensuring we are providing excellent customer experience through every item we deliver.
- Embed yourself within the IT development team (squad) working in an agile environment, to create an open and strongly collaborative culture within the squad to set up for success.
- Break down complex ideas for change into refined user stories, so that it is clear to the whole squad (developers, testers, BAs etc.) what the problem is to be solved.
- Collaborate with the squad to agree the best approach to achieve the desired outcome.
- Adopt a test and learn mindset, aiming to deliver value quickly and iterate continually.
- Act as SME for the business, validating that change delivered meets outlined requirements and expectations.
- Provide demos to the business, communicating the value delivered and how this relates to the original business need.
- Collaborate with Product, Ops, Claims, UW, and Pricing to scrutinise journey analytics and identify key customer pain points and opportunities.
Essential Skills:
- Strong customer focus and passionate about providing great customer experience.
- An analytical thinker who can communicate complex ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- An inquisitive mind that questions new ways to test, learn and optimise.
- Comfortable analysing and interpreting data.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills to varying audiences.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills – ability to manage expectations for outcomes and timescales of delivery.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects at one time, prioritising accordingly.
- Self-starter with excellent organisational skills.
Desirable skills:
- Previous experience in a similar Product Owner position, breaking down requirements into user stories, epics and initiatives, and managing backlog priorities.
- Experience of working in an agile development environment.
Feedback and Interviews:
We aim to provide decisions on applications as soon as we can and will typically aim to interview within a week after the vacancy closes.
