About the job

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a case handler/paralegal with litigation experience to join the Complex Litigation Team here at Admiral Law.

You will be responsible for running a litigated caseload, comprising of road traffic accident claims, acting on behalf of Claimants who have been injured and who may have suffered significant financial losses. This is a fee earning role, and you will be responsible for running your own Fast Track case load.  Such claims will involve complex issues of fact or law, and will often require letter of claim, drop out from the MOJ portal (due to complexity or value) and ultimately Part 7 Issue or application to transfer files from Part 8 to Part 7. You will be responsible for running the claim from limitation up to trial securing a positive result for our clients.

The role will provide a fantastic opportunity to not only work on complex files but also develop your own technical knowledge on higher value files.

You will always act in the best interests of your client, advancing the case proactively to a positive outcome for our client. Your caseload will comprise a mixture of liability admitted and denied cases with potential to be of significant value. Your claims will be complex, often involving loss of earnings, future treatment costs and likely to include a range of medical expert opinion ranging from orthopaedic injuries to pain management reports, ENT experts and neurologists. You will also be responsible for running Fatality, Bankruptcy and claims where clients lack capacity, all of which can require exceptional levels of client care, technicality, and sensitivity. Exceptional client care skills are therefore highly desirable together with a strong work ethic and drive to achieve excellent results.

You will be targeted on income and settlements.

The role also offers great opportunities to work closely with the Serious Injuries Team here at Admiral Law, often investigating and building a claim towards potential high settlement (ie over £25,000). You will have the opportunity to grow and develop through close links with solicitors within the serious injuries department and learn from their mentoring and buddying schemes. There will also be opportunities to shadow members of the Serious Injuries Team on significant and catastrophic Multi-Track cases, attending conferences, hearings and settlement meetings.  A positive approach to cross department communication is essential, as is the case with all areas of Admiral Law.

About You:

In terms of experience, the successful applicant would be expected to demonstrate:

  • Experience in running a caseload of their own Personal Injury files.;
  • Experience in Part 7 litigation
  • Ability to run a fast track trial
  • Proven track record of working towards financial income targets
  • Exceptional client care skills

Applicants with a strong litigation background (albeit perhaps not in Personal Injury) will also be considered for the role.

Being able to demonstrate prior Case Handling experience and litigation background is preferable for this role.

Whilst supervision and mentoring will be provided, you will be expected to identify, value and handle cases of considerable complexity in a progressive manner towards a positive outcome for both the firm and our clients.
