"We are looking for a highly skilled and analytical Operational Business Analyst to play a key role in optimising business operations through strategic alignment and process improvements. This role is critical in scoping and defining operational initiatives, ensuring alignment with business strategy, and building detailed business cases to justify recommendations. The successful candidate will work closely with Heads of Department, Operations Managers, and cross-functional teams to deliver insights, improve efficiency, and drive value creation across the organisation.
Deliver data-driven insights and offer stakeholders multiple options by analysing requirements, evaluating solutions, and identifying risks and benefits to support project readiness.
Operational Business Analyst will create detailed project plans for approval, or instead provide high-level project scope and deliverables for a strong foundation before change delivery.
Key Responsibilities
Scoping & Requirements Gathering
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to define the scope of operational projects and initiatives, ensuring clear objectives and deliverables are established.
- Produce and document business requirements, translating them into detailed specifications for implementation.
- Conduct feasibility assessments to determine the viability of proposed initiatives with solutions architecture teams. Assessing the breadth of capabilities to enable better decsion making of how to best deliver change for the greater good of our customer, staff, and business
Strategic Alignment
- Ensure that all operational projects and process improvements are aligned with the department’s strategic goals and long-term business objectives.
- Work with senior leadership to identify key areas of focus and contribute to the development of operational strategies.
- Provide insights on how operational changes can support broader business priorities, such as cost reduction, growth, and customer satisfaction.
Business Case Development
- Develop comprehensive business cases to justify the implementation of new operational processes or changes, detailing cost-benefit analyses, expected ROI, OKRs and resource requirements, such as PMs and SMEs.
- Present business cases to leadership and key decision-makers, articulating the strategic value and financial impact of proposed initiatives.
Process Improvement & Optimisation
- Analyse current operational processes to identify inefficiencies, bottlenecks, and areas for improvement.
- Lead initiatives to streamline workflows, reduce costs, and improve service delivery.
Data Analysis
- Use data analysis techniques to extract insights from operational data, identifying trends, anomalies, and areas of improvement.
Risk Management & Mitigation
- Ensure operational changes complies with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and Internal policies.
Collaboration & Stakeholder Management
- Collaborate closely with teams from operations, finance, IT, and other departments to drive the successful execution of operational initiatives.
- Act as a liaison between business units to facilitate communication and ensure alignment on goals and deliverables.
Change Management
- Assist in managing the transition process, from planning through to project delivery.
Key Skills
- Communication: Ability to clearly convey complex ideas and insights to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, ensuring alignment and understanding across the team.
- Problem Solving: Being able to identify operational challenges, evaluating solutions and implementing effective strategies to drive continuous improvement.
- Analytical: Proficient in interpreting data, identifying trends, and deriving actionable insights to inform strategic decsion making
- Strong Collaboration Skills: Skilled at working cross functionally with teams and stakeholders to achieve common goals and drive operational success.
- Critical Thinker: Ability to objectively evaluate situations, assess potential solutions and make well-informed decisions that align with business objectives.
- Negotiation: Skilled in facilitating discussions, balancing interests, and securing mutually beneficial agreements that align to business objectives
- Business Acumen: A broad understanding of business operations and strategies, enabling informed decisions that drive effective change.

Salary, Benefits, and Work-Life Balance
