This role is within Landlord Pricing, a part of Household Pricing. Household is one of Admiral’s fastest growing products, having built a base of 2 million customers in our first 12 years of trading. The Pricing department plays a key role in offering the right premiums to the right customers, ensuring the business is sustainable whilst delivering value to our customers. Our team of around 70 employees, including Pricing Analysts, Data Scientists, and support functions, uses innovative approaches to achieve this.
We are looking for a talented Pricing Manager to join our team, providing an exciting chance to contribute to the growth of Landlord within Admiral. This management position offers a significant opportunity to impact the continued success of the business while fostering personal growth through exposure to Senior Managers in Landlord, Household, and the wider Admiral business.
Although this team is primarily located at our Cardiff Headquarters, we offer flexibility in location and working arrangements, and welcome candidates from further afield.
This role will report to the Head of Landlord Pricing.
Job Purpose:
The primary purpose of this role is to support the Head of Landlord Pricing in developing and delivering the strategic goals of the department, both in terms of commercial and customer outcomes, but also in terms of the department being a positive place to work where the Admiral cultural pillars are embedded.
Reporting Lines:
This role will report to the Head of Landlord Pricing.
Main Duties:
- Management and development of analysts within the team, including the development of senior analysts’ management and technical skills
- Constantly looking for new and better ways of performing key activities in the team, including designing low-cost tests which can aid in understanding customer behaviour and demonstrate the viability of ideas.
- Developing a high level of awareness of the business beyond Landlord Pricing, recognising opportunities for learning from other areas.
- Review external and internal data sources for value to insurance pricing and make recommendations.
- Explore new innovative ways to rate on existing data and enhance the rating structure through new external data sources.
- Develop strong relationships with colleagues, both within the department as well as the wider business, to ensure successful delivery of projects that involve cross-departmental cooperation and collaboration.
- Gaining recognition as the go-to expert on specific topics and proactively sharing relevant information with the appropriate audience(s).
- Take responsibility for the quality and direction of complex analytical work carried out within your team.
- Communicating results and ideas to key decision-makers across different group companies, including Heads of Department and CEO/COO.
- Deputising for the Head of Pricing in your area at any requested forums.
Key Skills:
- Experience within Landlord Pricing (preferable), Household Pricing or Commercial Lines Pricing as a Senior Analyst or Manager.
- People management experience (desirable).
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including coaching and giving constructive feedback on complex pieces of work.
- Innovative, proactive and creative approach to taking initiative and getting things done.
- Develop strong relationships with colleagues, both within the department as well as the wider business, to ensure successful delivery of projects that involve cross-departmental cooperation and collaboration.
- Prior experience with any programming language (SAS, SQL, Big Query or a similar language) is preferred; in-house training will be provided to adapt to the role’s requirements.
Hybrid Working
The successful candidate will be expected to work at least 1 day a month in our Cardiff HQ, ideally aligned with the rest of your team.
Whilst this hybrid working policy is subject to change, we recognise the need for flexibility and are open to discussing alternative arrangements with individuals.
