Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the EUI Portfolio Management Office as a Portfolio Engagement Manager. You will need to have experience of managing and communicating change in complex organisations, be highly organised with solid attention to detail, and must have experience of engaging with staff at all levels to understand their needs and harness their ideas. 

You will be responsible for the Change Communication Strategy for Admiral’s UK Insurance business, as well as taking on responsibility for promoting the value of working practice and guiding and supporting colleagues through introduction of new processes, ensuring that they are well understood. 

As you’ll be working with talented change professionals, you will need to be familiar in project management and agile delivery practices, tools and governance. Reporting to the EUI Portfolio Office Manager, you will be joining the team at an exciting time with the opportunity to further identify and implement continuous improvement objectives of your own. 

Over the past 12 months, we have overseen the delivery of over 50 projects and programmes, the mobilisation of numerous tribes to support agile delivery, and introduced standards and processes to enable the delivery of a hybrid portfolio. The EUI Portfolio Management Office aims to drive strategic value of the EUI change portfolio whilst setting the standard to ensure change is governed and managed in a lean and consistent way. We provide Admiral leadership with data driven insights to enable decision making and prioritisation of initiatives at EUI Governance forums.


Main Duties

  • Develop and deliver communications and engagement plans for the EUI Portfolio of Change.
  • Chair of the EUI Change Community of Practice
  • Evaluation of change related communications
  • Chair the EUI Change Standards and Process Working Group
  • Ensure visibility of the Portfolio Plan
  • Lead on the promotion of improved ways of working within the Change Community
  • Mature relationships within the Change Community, encouraging consistency and best practice
  • Ensure visibility/transparency of the Portfolio Plan.
  • Lead on change capability planning
  • Provide a go to those within the Community for help and support
  • Implement an induction package to those in the Change Community
  • Organisation of Change Community Events 
  • Keeping abreast of professional development and research to ensure Admiral stay in touch and informed with Change practices
  • Understanding and utilising industry research to support additional soft skills/behavioural techniques to support the Change Community deliver Change as well as practical tools and techniques 
  • Enhancement of the Change Training Suite in partnership with Admiral Academy
  • You may also be required to undertake other PMO type activities


Key Skills, Qualifications, and Experience

Essential

  • Excellent organisational, time management, and project management skills, including the ability to work effectively on numerous projects simultaneously 
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to liaise with stakeholders at all levels
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills (including accurate grammar, spelling, and punctuation), with solid attention to detail and an ability to write and present to a variety of audiences
  • The ability to innovate and to implement new communications strategies 
  • A track record in managing and delivering top quality strategic communications and campaigns
  • Resilient, adaptable, able to think on your feet, and demonstrable experience of working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience of producing a variety of impactful, compelling communications for a diverse audience 
  • Computer literacy, including understanding and competency in word processing (e.g. Microsoft Word), desktop publishing, and image manipulation.
  • Understanding of PPM/Agile methodologies/Lean Portfolio Management
     

Desirable 

  • Experience of working on communications relating to IT or other infrastructure or change management projects in a complex organisation
  • Experience in campaign management, executing against campaign plans, and delivering on time and on budget
  • Experience in producing leadership communications pieces across a variety of channels
  • Familiarity with content creation software such as adobe InDesign and Photoshop as well as experience in audio and video production
  • Familiarity with content management systems and MS SharePoint and Office 365.
