"Admiral Insurance is looking to expand its finance team and is seeking to recruit a Financial Accountant. This is a real opportunity within a FTSE100 Group to shape systems and processes in the Finance function.
Key Aspects of the Role:
Reporting to the Insurance Accounting Manager / Senior Financial Accountant the remit of this role covers all aspects of insurance accounting for the Group’s UK insurance entity
The role requires a motivated and hardworking candidate with strong analytical, time management and organisational skills and a focus on data quality and control. Candidates will be recently qualified in a recognised accounting qualification for at least a year, ideally with experience of financial reporting processes for Financial Services Groups.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Preparation of monthly management accounts
- Perform control account reconciliations
- Preparation of monthly investment accounting analysis
- Production of regular board packs
- Group reporting to parent company (Half year, year-end)
- Preparation of year end statutory accounts and assist with external audit
- Submission of ad hoc regulatory returns (IPT, ONS)
- Provide additional general support and complete ad-hoc tasks as required
- Assist in finance ledger implementation and produce process documentation
Required Skills:
- Qualified in a recognised accounting qualification with at least a year’s post qualification experience
- Good knowledge of financial controls
- Insurance Experience
- Self-motivated, proactive with a can-do attitude towards work
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills
- Ideally trained in an external audit firm or with internal audit experience
