Admiral Insurance is looking to expand its finance team and is seeking to recruit a Financial Accountant. This is a real opportunity within a FTSE100 Group to shape systems and processes in the Finance function.

Key Aspects of the Role:

Reporting to the Insurance Accounting Manager / Senior Financial Accountant the remit of this role covers all aspects of insurance accounting for the Group’s UK insurance entity

The role requires a motivated and hardworking candidate with strong analytical, time management and organisational skills and a focus on data quality and control. Candidates will be recently qualified in a recognised accounting qualification for at least a year, ideally with experience of financial reporting processes for Financial Services Groups.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Preparation of monthly management accounts
  • Perform control account reconciliations
  • Preparation of monthly investment accounting analysis
  • Production of regular board packs
  • Group reporting to parent company (Half year, year-end)
  • Preparation of year end statutory accounts and assist with external audit
  • Submission of ad hoc regulatory returns (IPT, ONS)
  • Provide additional general support and complete ad-hoc tasks as required
  • Assist in finance ledger implementation and produce process documentation

Required Skills:

  • Qualified in a recognised accounting qualification with at least a year’s post qualification experience
  • Good knowledge of financial controls
  • Insurance Experience
  • Self-motivated, proactive with a can-do attitude towards work
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills
  • Ideally trained in an external audit firm or with internal audit experience
