Data Delivery Engineer

The Data Delivery Engineer will ensure that data solutions are designed and delivered to meet the functional and non-functional demands of the business and customer. Our focus in data delivery is to provide a self-service platform to the business so they can make key decisions and drive innovation.

The Data Delivery Engineer will work towards this goal with a team made up of other Data Engineers, Test Automation Engineers, Report Builders, Data Modellers, Analysts and Administrators. The role requires the Engineer to support what they develop and maybe expected to cover out of hours on-call.

Department Vision

The department is currently strengthening its strategic solution in preparation to move to the Cloud. This project has been well received by the business and has already made an impact to day-to-day operations and decision making.

As part of this project, we have investigated new tools and methods of working that have seen an increase in the speed we can deliver. The vision will be to give more autonomy to the end-users and allow them to make their own reports and dashboards freeing up time to add value with new functionality and innovations.

Technologies

Our core tech includes:

• Teradata, Oracle, SQL Server or relevant RDBMS
• MicroStrategy or other BI reporting tools
• GCP and other Cloud technologies
• WhereScape automation tools
• CI/CD tools such as Jenkins

Location

We are open to discussion around remote working possibilities (UK only). Our whole business is still working remotely. We will provide you with everything you need to work comfortably from home. We expect you to be working remotely for the foreseeable future. Once it’s safe to return to the office, you can agree your on-site days at the office with your Line Manager. Ideally we would like to see you at least once or twice a week at our Cardiff office but we do offer some flexibility depending on your location.
