"We have invested in the creation of a Data Academy to support our Data Community, providing data training and career pathways to those in data roles and uplifting data literacy throughout the organisation.
We are looking for a Data Coach to own and lead the creation of our training and development strategy in Data and be a part of building the Data Academy's success.
There are around 400 people in data roles across Admiral and the Data Community will bring together over 15 teams. Communication, collaboration, and networking are important to the Data Community, and we are looking for someone to help enable this.
Main Duties:
- Leading the creation of our training and development strategy for the Data Academy and helping deliver against it
- Owning new starter training for those in data roles and graduate induction
- Creating engaging content for our current staff and team to learn and develop, from planning to delivery
- Creating the Data Academy learning pathways and SharePoint pages; adding, removing, and updating the content shown for our staff
- Researching and making suggestions for new ways to train and develop the business using alternative tools and methods available
- Analysing feedback across our channels and providing recommendations for improvement
- Assisting the Head of Department in other ad-hoc tasks and initiatives to support the department’s ongoing training and development programme
This is not a full definition of the role but covers the main aspects and drivers for success.
Essential Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:
- Solid understanding of programming languages for example, SQL, BigQuery, and Python; with an awareness of good coding standards
- Experience of delivering and creating engaging content
- Creative when pulling together content and sharing it in a way that makes others want to engage and learn
- Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritise accordingly
- Efficient in using MS Office and its components
- Strong communication skills and confident communicating with people around the business in different roles
Desirable Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:
- Demonstrable experience in a trainer role (or similar)
- Experience of delivering and creating training content preferably in a data context
Location and Working Arrangements:
With regards to conducting training, in this role you will be expected to do this both virtually and in person. So, for in person training we’d expect you to be able to attend the Ty Admiral office in Cardiff on occasions, per month. We expect you to be working remotely for the foreseeable future, however, this role will be hybrid.
We do offer flexibility depending on your location and are open to discussing this. Please do not hesitate in querying this with the Recruitment Officer if needed.

Salary, Benefits and Work-Life Balance:
We do not have a set salary for this position, as it will be dependent on the successful candidate’s experience. We are happy to see CVs from all candidates who meet the requirements and will be happy to discuss the remuneration package.
