The Business Analyst role is to elicit, analyse, specify, and validate the business needs directly to operational activities. The business analyst aligns with specific transformation activities and business areas to provide expertise and guidance for all aspects of transformation across the organisation. The role is a crucial enabler for successfully implementing change requests, key projects and programmes, with very close links to all aspects of project management.

Main responsibilities:

  • Committed to organising and running workshops.
  • Undertake and understand stakeholder analysis.
  • Create and review high level and detailed BRDs.
  • Connect with the Project Manager to ensure delivery of products.
  • Enable and support UAT.
  • Identify, support and help manage risks, issues and dependencies.
  • Connect with stakeholders at all levels of the organisation.
  • Essential Skills and Experience
  • Substantial experience in writing high level and detailed business requirements documents (BRDs) and reviewing/contributing to change request documentation.
  • Proven experience in developing as-is and to-be process models, use case analysis or user stories is required.
  • Familiarity with phases and deliverables associated with systems development lifecycle (SDLC) methodologies, both upstream and downstream from requirements.
  • Solid interview and analysis skills, ability to run requirements management workshops, relationship management skills and requirements facilitation.
  • Ability to synthesise reporting requirements, including formats, common themes, patterns.
  • Experience in working closely with third-party vendors for the delivery of technology.
  • General knowledge of or direct exposure to a functioning Project Office in terms of structure, process, milestone delivery, governance.
  • Use of Microsoft products including Teams, SharePoint, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Visio.
  • Exposure to enterprise requirements analysis tools such as Enterprise Architecture or Jira is desired.
  • Exposure to and understanding different cultures/workstyles/implications of varied time zones upon project communications.
  • To be part of a fast-paced delivery team.
  • Experience working closely with third-party vendors to deliver technology in Agile and Waterfall or Hybrid methodologies. 

Desirable Skills:

  • Formal business analysis and or project management training (e.g. PMP, ISEB / BCS, Prince2 or IIBA).
  • Product Owner awareness/experience or qualifications.
  • Interest in the industry and relevant industry tools.
  • Experience in working with consultants and vendors, especially with regards to assisting in writing RFIs and RFPs.
