Here is an exciting opportunity to contribute to and shape ongoing initiatives across Admiral that are specifically focussed upon improving Enterprise Agility.

Job Purpose

You will act as an ambassador for enterprise agility, be a promotor of agile (Lean & SaFE) Frameworks & methodologies and champion core agile principles in the organization.  You will be accountable for continuing to embed enterprise agility, improve agile culture and practices in the leadership and delivery teams. You will demonstrate servant leadership to the CoE coaching community to help drive further agile adoption across the organisation as well as driving the strategy and change roadmap for the CoE team.

You will play an important role in supporting the delivery of the Portfolio, focusing on maximising the delivery of significant business value.  Being hands-on, engaging with teams at a tactical and strategic level.

Accountabilities & Responsibilities

  • Create cohesive strategy for diverse teams to enhance efficiency and effectiveness across our Change Portfolio
  • Enhance delivery methodologies and ensure relevant training is developed and delivered by the CoE
  • Strengthen enterprise understanding of Product Management to increase the delivery of value
  • Look for ways to strengthen enterprise understanding of Portfolio Management to increase the delivery of value
  • Strengthen the organisations understanding of values streams and how to mobilise and run successful Agile Release Trains
  • Agile coaching – Teach, mentor and improve agile (and change related practices) across the organization
  • Lead the CoE coaches and community champions to drive Agile adoption across the organisation
  • Conduct regular agile maturity assessments and pulse checks.  Provide insight and recommendations for improvements
  • Ensure the Enterprise is equipped to make strategic pivots
  • Drive appropriate consistency of practise across the enterprise
  • Ensure Portfolio Management best practice where applicable, such a Lean Portfolio management
  • Champion agile culture and practice acting as Change agent for enterprise agility
  • Advise on good practice (Project & Agile delivery) and scaling patterns
  • Support the refinement of the Strategic Investment Portfolio and the ad-hoc demand process.

Outcomes

  • Demonstrate a 10% + increase in NPS scores from colleagues on the Value of the CoE  
  • Directly support a 5% + improvement in throughput, and quality of the delivery teams  
  • Values to be re-visited and set annually

Knowledge and Experience Required

Strategic and Leadership Experience

  • Involvement in agile transformation at scale in large enterprise organizations
  • Involvement in agile adoption in start-ups also valuable
  • Experience in building and executing a strategy to drive Enterprise agility
  • Experience in defining and mobilising values streams
  • Demonstrated experience coaching organizations on agile best practices, expert in topics involving agile and experienced working at the leadership (portfolio) level
  • Experience in Strategic Planning, Value Management and Prioritisation.

Behavioural Competencies

  • Passionate about understanding people / teams in various stages of Agile environment
  • Excellent communicator with ability to negotiate, influence and explain
  • Able to lead calmly through periods of high pressure whilst inspiring people and teams to achieve excellence and grow their skills
  • Have drive, enthusiasm, and a can-do attitude
  • Innovative and creative thinking.

Technical and Role Based Skills

  • Extensive Agile (Lean, SaFE) experience and the flexibility to adapt your experience to new and evolving environments
  • Experience in leading Agile Release Trains
  • Industry-recognized certification, including but not limited to Scrum, Kanban, SAFe & Lean
  • Knowledge of Portfolio Management and Product Management best practice
  • Knowledge of continuous integration & deployment
  • Knowledge and understanding of cross-delivery team and shared service dependency management
  • Knowledge and experience of various Lean and SaFE methods and practises such as Design Thinking, Agile Release Trains, Planning Increment Events & Inspect and Adapt sessions
  • Knowledge and experience of Agile (Lean, SaFE) development techniques like: User Stories, Continuous Integration, ATDD - Acceptance Test Driven Development, TDD - Test-driven development, Continuous Testing, Pairing and Automated Testing
  • Knowledge of Project and Programme management
  • Experience with workflow management tools like JIRA/Confluence.
