Reporting to the Technology Risk Manager, the Technology Risk Senior Analyst will work as part of a team responsible for coordinating, developing, and operating an enhanced Risk framework for Technology (including security). Working closely with domain and subject matter experts, the team will ensure that Technology risk is effectively monitored and managed across Admiral Insurance.

Playing a key role in the team, the Senior Analyst will facilitate and support the identification, analysis, and monitoring of Technology risks. They will support risk assessments and help identify options and recommendations for treating risk.

The Senior Analyst will monitor and report on risk posture ensuring that risk is communicated/escalated as appropriate.

The Senior Analyst will contribute to developing enhanced Technology risk processes across the business and maintain risk procedures and processes. The role holder will also be required to educate users on technology risk processes and methodology.

Main Duties:

  • Facilitate and support stakeholder advisory & risk reviews. 
  • Provide pragmatic/proportionate risk advice and guidance.
  • Work with domain and subject matter experts to analyse and assess key risk scenarios and support stakeholders with risk analysis and reporting.
  • Review and recommend suitable, appropriate, cost-effective controls or countermeasures to address key Technology risks.
  • Monitor risk trends and areas of concern and develop risk mitigation plans with relevant stakeholders.
  • Undertake Horizon Scanning and facilitate the ongoing identification and tracking of Emerging Risk. 
  • Monitor and report Technology risk against risk appetite and tolerance levels.
  • Contribute to risk reporting and status updates for committees.
  • Support and advise on the Risk Event process. 
  • Support key programmes and agile teams with potential risks from planned IT-enabled change.
  • Develop and maintain Service Now risk management procedures and guides.
  • Educate users on Service Now risk modules and provide ongoing support.
  • Monitor alignment between Service Now and group GRC tool.
  • Coach and mentor junior team members. 
  • Support Continual Improvement activities within the team.

Key Skills, Qualifications and Experience

Essential:

  • Good knowledge and understanding of IT systems, processes, and controls. 
  • A minimum of 3 years' experience performing Risk analysis within a technical environment, either individually or as part of a team, supported by a strong understanding of IT/Cyber Security.
  • Clear and appropriate communication for employees at all levels with the ability to discuss technical subjects with both technical and non-technical audiences either verbally or in writing. 
  • Ability to articulate and pitch advice on Technology risk, often at a technical level, directly to key customer stakeholders.
  • Ability to effectively source, collate and interrogate data and information to support risk analysis. 
  • Ability to apply critical thinking, attention to detail, and see the bigger picture. 
  • Develop clear, efficient, and logical approaches to tackle issues and problems logically and step-by-step.
  • Ability to effectively collaborate and work independently in a fast-growing organisation.
  • An understanding of customer priorities and a desire to support their expectations. 

Desirable:

  • Experience working within a regulated environment such as the financial services sector.
  • Hold one or more relevant qualifications, for example, CRISC, CISM, CISA, CISSP etc.
  • Knowledge of widely accepted good practice frameworks (e.g., COBIT, ITIL, ISO etc.).
  • Previous experience working with internal and external auditors. 
  • Previous experience using the ServiceNow platform.
  • Previous experience in performing risk analysis using the FAIR risk analysis approach.
