This is an exciting opportunity within the People Operations area to lead and motivate the People Partner team, ensuring the provision of an impactful and high-quality strategic people partnering service across various departments and teams that meets customer needs and is aligned with cultural values. There is a strong focus on strategic planning, leadership and collaboration with senior leaders across the business to drive the achievement of commercial objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a strategic People Partner team, ensuring effective performance and capability, focused on impactful contribution and value-adding activity to broader business strategy and goals.
  • Work with the team to ensure that data is at the heart of all activity, enabling data driven decisions and effective measurement.
  • Work with the People Partnering network and maximise the use of the HR Centres of Excellence to develop and implement future PS leadership pipeline and succession to ensure the organisation has the future talent needed to achieve its goals.
  • Coach and develop the team to improve credibility and competence to enhance stakeholder confidence of the People Partner team, providing a platform to consult, advise and influence the development of commercially impactful change/improvement
  • Build productive relationships and a collaborative approach with senior stakeholders across the designated business area and wider organisation.
  • Act as a senior consultant to the leadership team, an ambassador of the People Services function and a custodian of its culture.
  • Work with the People Partnering network to ensure HR strategies, plans and activities across the organisation are impactful, value-adding, consistent, cohesive, and joined up.
  • Demonstrate credibility and competence to enhance stakeholder confidence of the People Partnering network.
  • Drive delivery of, and contribute to the ongoing refinement of, the PS People Strategy.
  • Work with senior business leaders to identify opportunities for change and ensure appropriate alignment and achievement of change management initiatives across your business area.
  • In collaboration with the Communications team and your People Partnering team, drive improvement in employee engagement that has a positive impact on morale, retention, productivity and the Great Places to Work results.
  • Act as a senior consultant to the leadership team and as an ambassador for the People Services function and custodians of its culture ensuring that we uphold the four pillars of “Communication, Equality, Reward and Recognition and Fun.” Influencing the business to follow our lead in living and breathing Admiral’s culture and values.
  • Undertake broader internal/external environmental analysis (e.g., SWOT, PESTLE, Five Forces etc) to identify future opportunities for innovation, change, improvement, and reduction of people risk and ensure plans are developed, prioritised, and agreed accordingly.
  • Use people data effectively to make informed business decisions and forecast longer term business needs and trends
  • Provide input and insight to the Head of People Operations and the wider People Services Leadership team.

You will ideally have;

  • Strong Leadership & Coaching skills
  • Strong commercial & financial acumen
  • Good networking & relationship building skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with all levels of the organisation
  • Strong negotiation and influencing skills
  • Strong analytical, data interpretation and problem-solving skills
  • Previous experience of:
    • Working as an HRBP or senior HR generalist
    • Leading high performing teams
    • Leading projects and programmes

Desirable

  • Chartered CIPD (Level 7)
  • Relevant project/change management qualification (PRINCE II, APM, PMI, etc)
  • Previous experience of working within Financial Services sector
  • Strategic/Business Planning experience

Salary, Benefits and Work-Life Balance

We do not have a set salary for this position, as it will be dependent on the successful candidate’s experience. We are happy to see CVs from all candidates who meet the requirements and will be happy to discuss the remuneration package.
