Household claims are looking for a technical liability claims handler. You will be responsible for working with the current team to assess new claims received and ascertain whether we have any interest or liability in the matter. You will be expected to conduct full investigations and liaise with all parties involved, including our customer, to complete enquiries into claims as quickly as possible. Quantum assessment is of high priority to accurately set reserves. Your negotiation skills will be required to bring claims to their intended conclusion as quickly as possible.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible to maintain a good working relationship with all teams within the department
  • Support the department to achieve targets and results.
  • Ensure all process and procedures are reviewed and adhered to and communicate feedback to the team/department.
  • Able to demonstrate experience of exceeding existing core roles and responsibilities
  • Be able to adapt in a constantly changing environment.
  • Demonstrate a positive attitude to work.
  • Adhere to company procedures as outlined in the ‘Big Book’
  • Embrace the companies ‘Core Competencies’
  • Promote the Admiral Culture and strive to improve the working environment
  • Be able to work under pressure and to achieve set daily / monthly targets
  • Identify all potential liability claims and undertake in depth claim reviews and investigations
  • Ensure claims are accurately reserved throughout the claim lifecycle
  • Undertake team projects when required.
  • Identify and communicate opportunities where improvements can be made to the customer journey and cost control.
  • Undertake phone duties as required
  • Demonstrate strong written and verbal communication with all customers & stakeholders
  • Able to demonstrate customer, customer, customer approach
  • Be a referral point for liability queries from other departments
  • Able to demonstrate ownership of own personal development
  • Stay up to date will all legal aspects of the role

Requirements:

You will ideally have;

  • A minimum of 1 year liability claims experience (does not have to be household related)
  • Able to demonstrate strong negotiation skills to achieve positive outcomes
  • A sound knowledge of the principle of indemnity
  • A practical knowledge base of liability claims procedures
  • Good educational background

  • The ability to communicate effectively
  • Attention to detail
  • Pro-active claims management and negotiation
  • Demonstrate the ability to take a proactive approach to dealing with suppliers and stakeholders
