About the Role
The Lead QA Analyst role is designed to support the Chief Technology Officer, helping to deliver the IT portfolio of projects to the correct governance standards. You will take ownership and provide a lead role on delivering a quality strategy across the business.
You will be expected to be hands-on initially, helping to ensure sufficient quality of the projects delivered by both technical and non-technical teams. As the role evolves, the Lead QA Analyst will become more strategic and governance focussed and will start to implement a supporting team.
- You will be expected to be able to handle any and all types of projects assigned to you
- Previous experience of setting strategy, direction and building/leading a QA team will be essential to this role, as is a strong focus on business analysis and development functions to facilitate quality focused business change
- You will also act as a point of referral and support from existing Agile delivery teams
- You will be required to spend your time moving between different projects whilst offering advice and assisting with a variety of projects at different stages of development
- You will be required to manage your own time and diary productively to ensure completion of your own tasks and that of each project
Main Responsibilities
- Ensure the quality of web and mobile platforms that fully integrate into both bespoke built and SaaS solutions
- Collaborate with existing Agile delivery teams to manage the quality of projects
- Responsible for the quality strategy within Veygo, ensuring sufficient quality practices and culture are embedded within the teams
- Establish and evolve QA processes and controls, ensuring that the team is using industry-accepted best practices and metrics to ensure quality goals are met
- Document and deliver the test strategy for ad-hoc projects
- Act as key point of contact for all QA aspects of the software delivery lifecycle and systems integration testing
- Lead and mentor QA team members
- Work effectively within the Agile/Scrum methodology and participate in sprint ceremonies where needed.
- Analyse and report on bugs
- Help raise the profile of QA within Veygo by providing visibility and education of QA process and promoting continuous improvement within the team
About You
You will be capable of working across multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring that quality is embedded into our ways of working from transformation programmes to change initiatives.
You will have an extensive background in implementing and developing solid QA and Test processes, with experience in Test Automation and Test Scripting. The successful candidate will be involved through the full lifecycle of a project from discovery through to delivery, and attention to detail.
|Knowledge, Abilities, and Experience
Must have
- Testing complex IT projects through to completion, resulting in delivery of robust and high-quality applications
- Designing and implementing highly automated QA processes within a fast Agile environment supporting several daily deployments into production
- Advising and implementating functional, non-functional and data testing
- Reporting of quality metrics to advise the business on continuous implement of QA
- Experience of working within both manual and automation testing environments
- Experience of automation tools such as selenium
- Exposure to API’s eg. SOAP/XML, REST/JSON
- Agile experience
- Familiarity with core Microsoft Office products (i.e. Word, Excel, Powerpoint, MS Project)
- Ability to engage and communicate with stakeholders at all levels
- Excellent multi-tasking skills and able to prioritise work
- Able to assist with troubleshooting on projects that need additional support
- Able to provide mentoring and guidance for other QA Analysts
- Able to provide input into portfolio level risk and issue management
- Able to help others to check and improve quality of work
- Ready to anticipate and support the activities of other members of the team
- Establish and maintain excellent working relationships within the business
Desirable
- Exposure to test methodologies such as Behavioural Driven Development
- Experience testing web applications using higher-level frameworks such as Cucumber, Mocha or Jasmine
- ISTQB Foundation Certificate
