About Veygo
At Veygo our world is learner and temporary pay-as-you-go car insurance. We know people's lifestyles are changing and our pay-as-you-go insurance provides our customers with flexible cover by the hour, day or week, so they can get cover when they need it, and not when they don’t. We're proud to have over 1 million customers and to be backed by Admiral Group, voted Best UK Car Insurance Provider six years in a row by The Personal Finance Awards.
Please note: You will be expected to work from the Cardiff office at least two days per week.
What kind of person are we looking for?
This is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated individual, ideally with experience working within a Continuous Improvement (CI) team, to help build and shape a new function within Veygo.
We're looking for someone with a naturally curious mindset - someone who challenges the status quo, asks “why,” and is driven by a desire to make meaningful improvements for our customers, colleagues, and the business.
This role reports to an experienced Operational Excellence Leader who will support your development in learning and applying Lean Six Sigma (LSS) methodologies and tools. You’ll be eager to learn new ways of working and willing to go the extra mile to grow quickly in the role.
You’ll join a small team with big goals. The Operational Excellence Team is expected to deliver a minimum 3:1 return on investment to ensure the function remains viable. This means identifying opportunities to improve business performance through growth initiatives, cost reduction, cost avoidance, or efficiency gains.
You’ll be excited by the opportunity to make a difference, thrive under pressure, be comfortable with ambiguity, and ready to learn.
You’ll embody and help define a culture of continuous improvement.
You’ll also be confident in collecting, analyzing, and reporting data to support improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the creation, maintenance, and delivery of a portfolio of change initiatives that drive the business forward and deliver a 3:1 return on investment
- Apply strong analytical and Excel skills to support data-driven decision-making
- Help design and embed a Veygo-specific LSS operating model and methodology
- Communicate LSS principles and practices effectively to stakeholders, teams, and key users
- Create, implement, and maintain front-line SOPs and process flows, ensuring consistency and clarity
- Optimize existing operational systems and ways of working
- Collaborate with Operations, Product, Growth, and IT teams to ensure seamless delivery of new initiatives, products, and systems
- Support and deliver LSS-focused training sessions as part of Pioneer’s internal Lean Academy
- Assist colleagues in delivering their projects within the Lean Academy framework
Desirable Skills and Experience
- Experience identifying and supporting change initiatives with measurable business benefits
- Strong analytical and Excel skills
- A Lean Six Sigma qualification (Yellow Belt or higher), or equivalent
- Familiarity with continuous improvement cultures and embedding them in daily operations
- Demonstrated success in delivering real improvements and change initiatives
- Understanding of front-line operations and financial services
- Proven ability to build strong stakeholder relationships across all levels
- Knowledge of budget control, financial analysis, and benefit tracking
