About the Role
Within the vulnerability management team, you will be working to identify control weakness and vulnerabilities across Admirals estate. We take a threat intelligence led approach, with a strong emphasis on empowering asset owners to remediate weaknesses, with expert advice and support provided by the vulnerability management consultants. The successful candidate will provide supporting capabilities to the wider team, focusing on operational tasks, operating procedures, reporting, and tracking of vulnerabilities.
You must be familiar with vulnerability management processes, CVEs, CVSS scoring systems and importantly show passion and enthusiasm to proactively develop and engage with colleagues across Admiral.
We provide a generous training budget. Members of the team have chosen to undertake numerous training courses and further certifications including SANS. We expect you to keep up to date on current security trends, tools, and exposures. We love gamifying security training, and all staff are encouraged to take part in CTFs. You will also be encouraged to attend conferences, seminars, and industry briefings.
We are proud to promote a flexible, open approach to hybrid working. Most of your work will be home based, but you must be prepared to travel to the Cardiff office from time to time as the role requires.
Responsibilities
The Vulnerability Management analyst will:
- Deliver against our defined VM strategy and roadmap.
- Support VM ITSM processes, including request and change responsibilities
- Develop standard operating procedures and work instructions
- Provide Vulnerability Assessment administrative support
- Monitor and investigate problems with scanning capabilities and integrations
- Proactively review and monitor detections and engage owners for remedial plans
- Support the ongoing development of self-service reporting capabilities for business functions and influence remedial actions combining both threat intelligence and asset context.
- Collaborate with the wider Information Security teams and business to drive forward continuous improvements.
- Work with 3rd party vendors / suppliers to operationality support the security tooling.
- Continuous development, keeping abreast with the evolving threat and vulnerability landscape, through engagement with wider colleagues, self-development and Admiral supported training.
Essential Experience/Skills
- Professional, positive, and approachable, bringing the wider business along the journey, a very important set of attributes!
- Familiarity with Vulnerability Management tooling
- Familiarity with Vulnerability Management processes
- Familiarity with vulnerability management databases and scoring systems, CVE’s, CVSS
- Familiarity with foundational IT concepts, network, operating systems
- Excellent writing skills, with an attention to detail.
- Familiarity of ITSM processes, Incident, Request and Change.
- Committed to security development and training.
Salary, Benefits, and Work-Life Balance
We do not have a set salary for this position, as it will be dependent on the successful candidate’s experience. We are happy to see CVs from all candidates who meet the requirements and will be happy to discuss the remuneration package.
