Veygo is one of these new businesses and at the forefront of the Mobility as a Service (MaaS) revolution, providing transport solutions for customers with and without cars. We want to make life easier for those wishing to share cars, use their own temporarily, or for learner drivers looking to practice in a family member’s or friends’ car. In short, we want to help people be able to get behind the wheel of a car, even if they don’t own one.
Our journey started in 2016 and it has been a challenging and exciting few years to disrupt the sector and show that tech allows us to provide great products, and in a way that is in line with the modern-day lifestyle. About the Role
Responsible to – Head of Business Support
Core Responsibilities
- Contribute to Veygo targets as an Underwriting SME. Underpinning your role is a focus on best practice, operational efficiency, product development and risk management.
- Maintain and develop the Veygo documents suite, including policy books, policy documents and website documents; including interpretation and application of the books, working closely with all relevant functions within Veygo and ensuring consistency between documentation and website wording.
- Create new sets of documents for new products
- Develop and maintain good Stakeholder/SME relationships across Veygo, Pioneer and the wider Admiral Group, ensuring changes made are communicated effectively.
- Influence change by identifying procedural gaps, risks and opportunities. You should leverage your SME knowledge, stakeholder engagement and alignment to business objectives to facilitate change.
- Provide expert Underwriting advice to all areas of Veygo.
Develop SME knowledge around Veygo’s work on fraud and misrepresentation, financial crime and anti-money laundering.
- Maintain an understanding of the regulatory requirements around the introduction of potential new products, working with the Product Teams to understand the potential implications of entry to new markets, maintaining an open attitude towards new initiatives.
- Actively question and carry out reviews of existing product terms and conditions, working alongside our Pricing, Product and Claims teams to ensure our risk approach meets the requirements of the wider business.
- Maintain a good working relationship with external organisations such as MIB, taking ownership of services such as MID and My Licence, creating and maintaining processes for their management and understanding and reporting on related MI.
Role Requirements
- Technical knowledge of our underwriting criteria, policy books and processes including an understanding of liability, indemnity and reinsurance
- Good knowledge of motor insurance, legislation and regulation
- Experience and good knowledge of MID processes and MIB agreements
- Strong in all forms of communication
- Analytical and numerate – comfortable using MI to help make decisions
- Ability to make recommendations, with evidence and justification based on good preparation and background knowledge
- Self-motivated and proactive
- Strong interpersonal skills, with ability to build relationships
- Confident in department and wider business discussions, willing to participate and engage, offering opinions and constructive questioning
- Strong written skills
