This Senior Pricing Analyst will support with the core pricing of our Travel Insurance product, focusing primarily on risk pricing with a wide range of exposure across the product and the pricing structure. This role will also involve training and mentoring more junior members of the team with a development pathway into people management.

Responsibilities

  • Effectively drive forward the implementation of pricing initiatives using analytical tools.
  • Analysing our pricing structures and past performance to improve profitability and competitivity.
  • Optimise the use of existing internal and external data sources and evaluate the value of new data sources.
  • Communicate results and ideas to key decision-makers and stakeholders including leadership.
  • Help ensure the Travel Pricing meets regulatory and governance requirements, including reporting to internal regulatory stakeholders
  • Supporting the technical implementation and testing of price changes.
  • Liaising with peers in Motor, Household and Pet Pricing departments for collaboration and cross-product learning.
  • Respond to customer, agent and underwriting queries and use these to help improve our pricing structure.
  • Leading, developing and managing more junior pricing analysts.

Requirements

  • Strong numerical and reasoning skills are required. Previous pricing experience would be ideal but open to applications from candidates with a range of data and analysis backgrounds
  • Experience with mentoring, coaching or training.
  • Experience of GCP, SQL or similar programming languages
  • Hunger for knowledge and desire for problem solving.
  • Ability to analyse data and provide strategic insight.
  • Strong organisational skills to help manage workloads and prioritise tasks from a variety of stakeholders.
  • Good communicator with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as able to feed into wider teamwork.
  • Demonstrable ability to combine analytical thinking based on numbers, together with common sense and imagination.

Interview Process

The interview process includes a test and a two-stage interview via Teams.

Location

The role is a hybrid role with an expectation to regularly attend our Cardiff office.
