Senior Financial Planning and Analysis Analyst (12 month Fixed Term Contract)

We are looking for an ambitious, hands on, finance professional to support the UK Insurance Financial Planning and Analysis function. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain a wide knowledge of the business, to get involvement in key financial analysis and to build relationships with senior management across Admiral Group.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing a good understanding of the activities of the Group and develop a strong working relationship with managers across the various UK Insurance businesses, to provide financial and numerical analysis on a variety of subjects.
  • Play a leading role in the UK Insurance planning/budget/forecast cycle, including the ownership of models, challenge of submissions from UK Insurance businesses and the preparation of presentations and analysis for Senior Management and the UK Insurance Board
  • Develop a strong understanding of the insurance accounting and our reinsurance arrangements to ensure they are appropriately modelled in our business plans.
  • Developing a process to monitor financial and non-financial performance across the UK Insurance group to identify areas requiring investigation and further analysis and communicating issues and conclusions effectively.
  • Support in the collation and distribution of UK Insurance and Group Board packs
  • Providing financial and analytical support on projects to support management decision making.
  • Provide general support and ad-hoc analysis as required by Management.

Qualifications, Skills, and Experience

  • Qualified accountant with strong academic background and strong numeracy and analytical skills.
  • Commercial outlook is essential and experience of preparing business plans, producing detailed financial analysis, and Board reporting would be desirable.
  • Experience with insurance accounting (IFRS 4 or 17) would be beneficial but is not essential.
  • Experience of developing and maintaining financial models would also be beneficial but is not essential.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with and influence all types of people and all levels of management.
  • Self-motivator, pro-active in all aspects of the role.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills are essential, and proficiency in using other MS Word and PowerPoint.

We do not have a set salary for this position, as it will be dependent on the successful candidate’s experience. We are happy to see CVs from all candidates who meet the requirements and will be happy to discuss the remuneration package.
