Household is Admiral’s fastest growing product with bags of opportunity still to realise in Loss Ratio and Customer Experience - it has big plans! Situated within the Household Data Insights team and working closely with Household’s Senior Management, this role will ensure we use data for strategic advantage as well as effective operations and will be integral to the department’s success.

You will work within the data provisioning team and expected to build, maintain and scale the reporting infrastructure. To guarantee that it is sufficient for reporting requirements, ensuring data is accessible accurate, utilised, and well governed, whilst producing insightful and comprehensive ad hoc analysis.

Main Duties include

Data Management and Reporting: Use Google Cloud Platform and Looker to ensure timely delivery of accurate and fit-for-purpose reports.

Stakeholder Engagement: Liaise with all levels of management and stakeholders across the business, building and maintaining relationships. Maintain close relationships with Data Engineers and Developers, ensuring data provisioning, servicing, and pipelines are fit for purpose.

Request Management: Manage and prioritise outstanding requests using the team’s kanban board, communicating backlogs when necessary. Inclusive of but not limited to bug notifications and data landing requests.

Process Optimisation: Optimize existing processes, improve reporting, and enhance data visualisation.

Technical Support: Provide technical support within the team for Looker/LookML requirements and champion best practices for programming.

Data Governance: Ensure required data from internal systems, suppliers, and other external sources is accessible, utilised, and well-governed.

Release Oversight: Review dashboards and SQL for inefficiencies and stay up to date with new releases.

Alignment with Business Strategy: Ensure alignment with the wider business data strategy and engage with HH Claims/Core to establish effective reporting.

Agile Working: Work in an agile environment, handling multiple tasks, setting priorities, and meeting deadlines.

Training and Expertise: Identify training needs among analysts, demonstrate best practices, and be an expert in available data to solve business problems.

Experience and Qualifications Required

  • Experience with data analysis.
  • Experience with Microsoft Excel , Looker, SQL,  BigQuery and a keen interest in programming in general.
  • Good knowledge of the data held within GCP, specifically for Household is desirable.

  • Be able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to interact directly with end users at all levels.
  • Ability to work in an Agile environment handling multiple tasks and creatively approach situations.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to deliver high quality work within deadline.
  • Flexible approach, highly motivated and willing to contribute to areas outside direct responsibilities.
  • Willingness to challenge and question processes to understand business needs.
