"The Release Analyst is responsible for scheduling, planning, and controlling the software deployments. You will also be responsible for the Release Management lifecycle that involves the stages such as scheduling the release, coordinating between teams, and deployment of release as per the schedule.
Other responsibilities include:
- Business approvals, resourcing the deployment.
- Identify the risks that can delay the release and manage it.
- Always work to improve the process of release.
- Schedule the release readiness reviews before deployment and milestone reviews after each release.
- Create plans for the implementation and deployment as per the release schedule.
- Plan and give daily updates on the release activities.
- Make sure the allocation of Release Engineers to every release.
- Communicate & escalate to release manager.
- Lead the Go-Live activities to deploy the software successfully.
- Maintain documentation related to procedures on build and release, various notifications lists, and dependencies.
- Assisting developers on release process & documentation requirements.
- Manage multiple releases to multiple environments.
- Change management skills like raising changes in Service Now, representing technical changes in the CAB.
- Environment management skills like blocking the environment for your releases, coordinating with teams using the environment etc.
- Tools – JIRA, Confluence, Service Now.
- Out of hours releases to be supported (Typically biweekly)
Desirable:
- Knowledge of Azure devops, EBS, Appdynamics, Jenkins, code merge & deploy.
