About the Role - Key Responsibilities

  • The role holder will; monitor, review and challenge the application of the Enterprise Risk Management Framework within Data and Digital Activities for Admiral Group from a line 2 perspective. 
  • Within this the role holder will support Senior Management and / or the Board as they look to enhance the efficiency, effectiveness, and consistency of risk management practices. 
  • You will develop a 12-month plan of works, to be approved by the Head of Group Risk, as part of the formation of the Group Risk Annual Plan.  
  • You will build relationships with key Senior Managers and Board members to understand any current or upcoming risk challenges and how you can support them in meeting these challenges, in line with Admiral Group’s Enterprise Risk Management Framework.
  • Where required you will provide consultancy and support to Senior Management and / or the Board in managing risk within their area.  Such consultancy and support could be provided via; bespoke reviews, risk event root cause analysis, workshops, etc.
  • You will plan and perform risk reviews throughout the Group, with a view to; determining if ‘in scope’ areas are fit for purpose, identifying areas of good / bad practice, identifying efficiencies, and working towards achieving consistency with the wider Group (where applicable).
  • You will support the business in its desire to identify, measure, monitor, manage and report risks across the business.
  • Developing and owning standards, policies, frameworks, processes, approaches and reporting
  • Providing oversight and challenge of the work completed within the entity risk teams including reviewing and challenging plans and resourcing profiles and oversighting key decisions taken within the entity
  • Producing consolidated reports for presentation to Group Board/ Board committees
  • Identifying emerging risks and trends across the Group entities
  • Maintaining relationship with UK Regulators
  • Provide consultancy and support Heads of departments in managing risk within their areas via regular risk reviews, risk event root cause analysis and education and awareness sessions.
  • You will support the Risk Appetite process, proposing appropriate Early Warning Indicators (or Key Risk Indicators), Triggers and Limits and reporting mechanisms to the relevant committees and/or Boards.
  • You will support the stress and scenario testing for the Group and input to the wider ORSA process including production of the annual ORSA report for Board approval.

About You - Key Competencies, Behaviours & Experience

Candidate profile:

  • Strong influencing and persuasion skills;
  • Strong Data Governance, Data Management and Digital/Customer Journey knowledge
  • Able to multi-task, work under pressure and lead projects;
  • Experience of working in a governance focused role; and
  • Educated to degree level, with a good working knowledge of risk management.
  • Able to build open relationships and gain consensus with all internal stakeholders
  • Ability to work independently and proactively as well as leading a team
  • Able to multi-task, work under pressure and lead large complex projects
  • Objective, timely and confident decision making skills
  • Attention to detail, with an analytical mindset
  • Strong influencing and persuasion skills
  • Commercially minded
