The Agile Coach will act as an ambassador for enterprise agility, be a promotor of agile (Lean & SAFe) frameworks & methodologies and champion core agile principles in the organisation.  They will be responsible for continuing to embed enterprise agility, improve agile culture and practices in the product leadership and delivery teams.  They will demonstrate servant leadership to the CoE coaching community to help drive further agile adoption across the organisation.

The Agile Coach will play an important role in supporting the delivery of the Portfolio, focusing on maximising the delivery of significant business value and key results.  Being hands-on, engaging with teams at a tactical and strategic level.

They do this by utilise different skillsets such as coaching, mentoring, facilitation and teaching to accelerate the adoption of agile practices and mindset.

Main Duties 

Agile Coaches work across different areas of the business and with people from all levels to continue improving how we work together and build the right features to delight our customers. The Agile Coach will lead on Scaling Agility across Admiral applying a wide range or frameworks and techniques to work alongside Heads of Product, Heads of IT, Delivery Lead’s, Squad Leads, Product Leads and Product Managers.

The role focuses on the following:

  • Coach individuals, groups and teams on Agile theory and helping teams put it into practice.
  • Champion agile culture and be a change agent for enterprise agility.
  • Build a community of Agile champions to drive Agile adoption across the organisation.
  • Apply a range of techniques and approaches to help people or teams solve solutions.
  • Applying different methods and skills (e.g., coaching, facilitation, mentoring) to meet the needs of the people you are working with.
  • Design and deliver training programs for different audiences across a range of different topics.
  • Use data and applicable tooling to help coach/reflect on what’s really happening, suggesting improvements in the organisation and measuring the impact of any changes, (measure, manage and improve).
  • Conduct regular agile maturity assessments and pulse checks.  Provide insight and recommendations for improvements.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and demonstrate an Agile mindset.
  • Support the launch and continuous improvements of Value Streams, ART’s and squads across the organisation.
  • Contribute towards delivering change initiatives with the rest of the Agile Coaching team and wider stakeholders.

Experience Required 

Desirable:

  • Experience as an Agile Coach.
  • Experience working in a scaled agile environment..
  • Coaching accreditation such as ICF, EMCC, ICP-ACC.
  • SAFe SPC Certification.
  • Experience using and implementing OKR’s.

Essential:

  • Strong team player.
  • Experience in an agile practitioner role (eg Scrum-master or equivalent) working with multiple teams to enact change.
  • Working knowledge of various Agile/Lean frameworks or approaches.
  • Experience building and delivering training sessions for a wide audience.
  • Experience of coaching people at various levels of an organisation from C suite to squad level.
  • Experience working in or with a team of Agile Coaches contributing to wider change initiatives.
  • Experience in the application of evidence-based management to help measure, manage and improve Value.

Salary, Benefits, and Work-Life Balance
