There is no one type of Admiral employee. In our contact centre jobs, we’re always looking for people who can bring new experiences and perspectives.
Are you thinking of applying for a contact centre job at Admiral? To be successful in a contact centre job, we look beyond the CV. We consider the potential of the candidate, their eagerness to work here, and their ambition and enthusiasm, over any previous experience in a similar role.
If you’re looking for an employer who values ambition, eagerness, inquisitiveness and a desire to learn, then a role at Admiral may be what you’re looking for.
Do you need experience to work in a contact centre at Admiral?
No previous insurance or call centre experience? No problem. We provide full training for every role. That means you can grow your skills from day one and build a career, even if this is your first job in the industry. Admiral is a place Where You Can despite your prior experience.
Our contact centre is full of examples of individuals who have carved out a great career, including stories of team members moving from agent roles to becoming team leaders. As long as you’re enthusiastic, open to new challenges and have the right mindset, there’s an opportunity for you here.
Are certain qualifications needed?
You also don’t need any specific qualifications to join the contact centre teams at Admiral. If you are self-motivated, polite, friendly, responsible and hard-working then you already have the core skills and attributes we value in our team. We provide training for all other skills you’ll need to be successful in your role.
It’s just as important that you like us as we like you, so as part of the recruitment process you’ll get the opportunity to come to the office, where we’ll tell you a bit more about the company, you can sit in with the department you are applying to join and get the opportunity to ask any questions you have.
When you attend one of our ‘meet and greets’ you’ll notice that we have a unique culture which we want staff to enjoy and believe in and who are great ambassadors for the business. If you believe in what you’re doing and you’re happy in your role, you will provide the best possible service to our customers, which is our philosophy, ‘people who like what they do, do it better.
What’s the Admiral recruitment process like?
We believe that the recruitment process should be two-way. That means you get to know us just as much as we get to know you.
Step 1: The application
Your CV and application form are your first chance to show us what you’re all about. Here’s how to stand out:
- Tailor your CV to the role you're applying for
- Give specific examples from work, school, volunteering, or life that demonstrate your skills
- Show us you’ve done your research and mention things you admire about Admiral
- Check your spelling and grammar (yes, we notice!)
Step 2: The meet and greet
If your application catches our eye, you’ll be invited to an informal “meet and greet” session at one of our offices. This is your chance to:
- Learn more about the company
- Sit in with the team you’ve applied to join
- Ask any questions you have
- See what our culture really feels like
We want you to enjoy life at Admiral. These sessions help ensure it’s the right fit on both sides.
Step 3: Telephone and face-to-face interviews
If you progress to interviews, preparation is key. We recommend:
- Reviewing the job description in detail
- Understanding what the department does and how you can contribute
- Being ready to talk about your experiences and strengths
- Showing your enthusiasm, energy and willingness to learn
In interviews, we look for people who are naturally positive, curious, and engaged. So be yourself and don’t forget to smile!
Top tips to be successful once you join us
Beyond the interview, if you are keen to build your career at Admiral, opportunities are abound. Many people start in contact centre roles and go on to have long, successful careers across different departments, whether that’s claims or leadership.
We support everyone to grow their careers, but there are a few qualities we see in people who really thrive here:
- Punctuality and reliability
- Curiosity and a love of learning
- A friendly, team-first attitude
- Goal-oriented and ambitious mindset
- Strong communication skills
To summarise, if you want to be a successful candidate...
Catch our eye at the application stage by having a detailed and error-free application.
Stand out at the telephone and face-to-face interview stage by showing that you’ve completed your research on the role and company – have a good understanding of both, and again expand on your answers as much as possible, drawing on any relevant experiences from college, university or a previous or current job.
In the face-to-face interview, relax, be yourself and smile.
