They manage end user computing, employee experience technology, low-code automation, business applications, collaboration tooling, and generative AI. The team are looking for a Technical Solution Designer to help them navigate a multi-year roadmap and provide innovative solutions across their services.
About the job
As a Technical Solution Designer, you will pioneer the new solutions that shape the future of our department. Your role is pivotal in driving change through carefully curated design proposals, influencing architectural decisions, and guiding the service teams to success. You will be a part of the Design & Engineering team, our forward-thinking technologists who split their time between design, discovery, and consultancy.
Your Responsibilities:
- Navigates the creation of solution designs for our tech and service portfolio, including Microsoft 365, End User Computing, Employee Experience, Power Platform Automation, and Business Systems.
- Champions the adoption of modern technology and influences the development our roadmap, ensuring it continues to evolve with the needs of the business and aligns with long term architectural initiatives.
- Foster constructive collaboration between IT, Architecture, Information Security, and Business teams to ensure a holistic view of the architectural vision is maintained and innovative solutions are approved for delivery at a regular cadence.
- Provides technical guidance to our project and service teams, advising on the prioritisation of tasks on new projects and advocating the adherence to best practice recommendations. You will steer projects to success, ensuring they align with your vision and designs.
- Works closely with strategic vendors and partners to maintain a view of emerging technologies and wider industry trends. Attending regular roundtable events, arranging product demos, and assessing proof of concepts.
- Explores continuous improvement opportunities for services, end user experience and security. Proposing solutions to resolve inefficient processes, harnessing automation where suitable, collaborating on service designs, and optimising the technology stack.
Who You Are

- A connoisseur of modern security practices, with an ability to find the right balance between protecting the business and preserving a positive user experience.
- Experienced in designing IT solutions, presenting them, and overseeing their delivery into service as a trusted advisor to the project team.

Our Technology
Experience with any of the following products / tech domains would be desirable:
- Microsoft 365 – Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, Exchange, Intune, Licencing, Security, AAD, CA.
- Employee Experience Platform – SharePoint, Viva Suite, Power Platform, Cards, API Integrations.
- Endpoint Management – Intune, App Deployment, Patching, Windows, Mac, Mobiles, Autopilot.
- Identity – AAD, Conditional Access, Saviynt, CyberArk, ID Platforms, MFA, JML, IAM, PAM, IGA.
- Security – CIS Benchmarks, App Control, NIST, Remote Access, Endpoint Privilege Management.
- Virtual Desktop – VMware Horizon, Azure Virtual Desktop, Dev Box, Windows 365, FSLogix.
- Business Apps – Dynamics 365, Service Now, Workday, SFTP, Power BI, Sage, HR, Room Booking.
- Low Code Automation and Generative AI – Power Pages, Power Apps, Power Flows, Co-Pilot.
Please note - We appreciate that our range of technologies is extensive, and we are not looking for someone that has vast exposure to all of them. We are looking for someone that has experience in the design of IT solutions and is comfortable steering the delivery of change in the pursuit of a Modern Workplace.
Salary, Benefits, and Work-Life Balance
We do not have a set salary for this position, as it will be dependent on the successful candidate’s experience. We are happy to see CVs from all candidates who meet the requirements and will be happy to discuss the remuneration package.

What areas do you look after? I look after the CTO and Cyber, Risk and Resilience departments in the Tech area.
Tell us about you and your Admiral story? I started Admiral in 2019 straight after university in the Motor Claims department as a Claims Handler. I was successful in my application for the internal development programme 'TAP' in 2021, a rotational scheme which placed me in Household Product. I was offered a permanent role there and helped develop our home insurance product for 2 and a half years. My passion had always been people so applied for Talent Acquisition in 2023 and have been here ever since!

I now work in my dream career in People, and have completed my CIPD Level 5.
