About the role

Administration
You will work across our businesses to facilitate various administrative tasks
Events
You will work with leadership from across our portfolio to create exciting and engaging events that include external speakers (and from Admiral Group).
Culture
As a new business we are creating our culture in real time- we want to make it inclusive and fun and brought to life in the things we do, i.e. Culture doesn’t exist on paper. You will take on some of the great things we have initiated (welcome gifts, recognition, etc.) and bring in new ideas and approaches to take this further.
Community
You will support our engagement with the startup community in South Wales and the wider UK. This could be facilitating our engagement through The Fintech Wales, Foundry programme to organizing and hosting hackathons in our Studio facility.
Social Media
You will take the lead on our market facing social media activity (Linkedin and Twitter) but also build our engagement across our portfolio businesses and with the main Admiral Group.
About you
Knowledge and abilities
In this role attitude and approach is more important than experience. We expect the successful candidate to be:
- Self- motivated- you won’t require much direction and happy to “muck in”
- Creative- you have loads of ideas and want to be able to bring them to life
- Communicator- you can engage at all levels and make your ideas clear and compelling
- Commercial- we won’t be able to do everything and we will need to make our budget work hard
Experience (Required)
- You will have experience of creating and managing events from start to finish (either in work or outside)
- You will have held an administrative support role in a mid-size business
- You will have experience making decisions and managing budgets
Experience (Desirable)
- You will have experience of managing professional social media accounts
- You will have experience working in a start-up or scale-up environment
Additional Information
The role will report into the COO of Admiral Pioneer.
Due to Covid, the whole Admiral Pioneer team is working remotely. We will provide you with everything you need to work comfortably from home.
We expect you to be working remotely for the foreseeable future, however, once it is safe to return to the office, we will have days when the whole team comes together to collaborate in Cardiff. Please note you will need to be comfortable occasionally making that journey to our Cardiff office as part of your personal commute for this role.

What areas do you look after?
I look after a variety of roles for Admiral Tech, mainly in Delivery, as well as IT roles for AFSL.
Tell us about you and your Admiral story?
I have worked in Admiral for over 20 years, I started in Customer Care and worked my way round various roles in the department. I joined Recruitment looking after the administrator and contractor positions and more recently moved to look after all of IT recruitment within Admiral Tech.
