The Senior HR Business Partner will manage a team of People Services (HR) Executives while providing generalist human resources and employee relations related advice and support across the business. The Senior HR Business Partner will work closely with all levels of staff, looking after staff-welfare and taking an active role in addressing operational issues, whilst making a proactive contribution in shaping the strategic direction of the business area.      

Main Duties

  • Lead, develop and motivate a team of People Services Executives ensuring they are well informed while providing high levels of support
  • Develop an in-depth understanding of their wider business areas including their current and future objectives and challenges
  • Make a proactive contribution in highlighting, addressing and resolving operational issues within their wider business areas
  • Make a proactive contribution in shaping the strategic direction of their designated business area. Develop and manage comprehensive people strategy where needed
  • Use early intervention mediation techniques to prevent or minimise employee relations issues escalating
  • Assist in the identification of any skills shortfalls within their business area.  Provide coaching and support to people managers in relation to people management, best practice and the application of policies and procedures where necessary
  • Manage complex appeals and grievances to completion, providing feedback and recommendations to all relevant parties to improve future employee relations
  • Work with the relevant areas of People Services to assess the effectiveness of our company policies and procedures, highlighting areas for improvement where necessary
  • Work with the various business areas and their managers to ensure they are working to best practice and are operating within legislative and regulatory guidelines
  • Analyse and interpret management information (MI).  Identify both positive and concerning patterns / trends and feedback to the Operations Delivery Team with suggestions for improvement
  • Actively challenge the norm within the business areas and within People Services to bring about beneficial change
  • Communicate clearly and frequently with other team members to ensure they are kept up to date on relevant issues and are acting consistently

Experience and Qualifications:

Essential

  • Previous HR experience working at a senior level
  • Excellent standard of English and numeracy
  • Aptitude for learning and development
  • Previous experience of working in a confidential and discreet capacity 
  • CIPD qualified
