"Risk and Control Manager
We are looking for someone to be responsible for implementing and embedding a Control Assurance Framework, delivering a control testing programme providing assurance to all Line 1 business areas.
As part of a central risk function, leading a control testing operation, you and your team will work closely with senior managers and risk owners to ensure that controls are designed and operated effectively. You will also deliver a framework to ensure the assessment of control effectiveness, enabling informed decision making and controlled risk taking, supporting good customer outcomes.
You will be responsible for reporting on the state of control operation in EUI to relevant Boards and Committees as well as to Group. You will be an experienced risk professional who has a clear understanding of risk theory and designing and operating control frameworks.
Main Duties
- Support the implementation and embedding of EUI’s control framework and standards in Line 1 business areas.
- Establish and maintain a control library aligned where necessary to the Group Control Framework.
- Set up a control testing team responsible for the control library and control testing activity.
- Design and implement a control testing approach that provides assurance over control design and operation.
- Produce informative and timely reporting on control assurance activity to risk committees and Board.
- Help shape a robust risk management framework through regular with contact with all Line 1 risk functions/ champions providing advice and support.
- Lead a high performing, happy and talented team, ensuring ongoing professional development and day to day guidance and support
- Foster strong working relationships with Senior Managers/ Risk Owners in the business to support with decision making based on risk and control profile
- Attend risk working groups and committees to represent Line 1 Risk Management.
Key Skills, Qualifications and Experience
- An understanding of risk theory and practice.
- Experience in control frameworks and control testing.
- Good analytical skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
- Good stakeholder management skills.
- Experienced people manager.
- Understanding of Admiral products, processes, and services.
