"The IT Asset Management (ITAM) team is responsible for lifecycle management of all IT hardware, software, and service agreements within Admiral and sits within the Office of the CIO. Job Purpose
The purpose of the role will be the management of Admirals IT Assets encompassing the end-to-end lifecycle of Assets. This role will ensure we meet the evolving demands of the business in a cost effective and timely manner. To work closely with all stakeholders to formulate an asset lifecycle that includes the goals of each business function into a single lifecycle that uses recognised best practices and frameworks.
The role is site based across our sites in South Wales (predominately Swansea and Cardiff), to help support the ITAM function for all IT Hardware & Software assets including procurement (raising of purchase orders), maintaining stock levels, reporting on technology refreshes, retirement, and disposal with a focus on Software.
Your key responsibilities:
- Be responsible for supporting an enterprise wide ITAM / Software & Hardware Asset Management function.
- Effective use of SAM tools according to software processes and procedures to ensure we maintain accurate effective license positions.
- Review ELPs and present to internal stakeholders and action the recommendations.
- Proven end-to-end SAM experience, from inventory and entitlement inventory extraction to ELP and execution of software optimisation.
- Data analysis & proficiency in Excel and BI tools.
- IT Asset Management toolset experience.
- Provide administrative support to the HAM & SAM function such as ‘Auditing asset receipting’
- Servicing Business needs via our Incident & Service request platform.
- To work closely with the relevant teams to ensure that operational processes relating to Software Asset Management are maintained and reviewed regularly.
- To provide credible summarised SAM data for license usage, software audits and other standard reports as required
- To engage with business stakeholders.
- In collaboration with the rest of the team, to continually contribute to the improvement of the SAM function and drive the development of better governance processes in line with business change.
- To champion SAM and execute the activities around maintaining compliant software consumption and optimisation.
SaaS & Cloud technologies.
- Evaluate and monitor SaaS application inventory across the organisation for optimal cost-effectiveness, including application and version control.
- Manage SaaS application life cycles including the creation of a SaaS renewal calendar; build a documented, collaborative evaluation process; and develop action plans for upcoming renewal dates
- Develop ongoing partnerships with IT, *sourcing, vendor management and individual department managers to support digital transformation and increase organisational ROI, effectiveness and agility.
- Help stakeholders find the most effective tools to increase business effectiveness, in collaboration with architects
- Work with Finance and IT Operational departments ensuring consumption is in line with licencing models and budget allocations.
- Establish visibility of key cloud investments
Essential
- Meticulous attention to detail & record keeping.
- IT Asset Management and Discovery Tools experience
- Major vendor basic licensing knowledge
- Preparation and analysis of ELPs
- Reporting Skills
- Organised and self-motivated
- Focussed on delivering value to the organisation and increasing the ROI
- Experience in managing licensing for key strategic vendors such as Oracle, VMWare, Microsoft, SAS, IBM
- Proven track record in providing audit defence remediation and negotiation
- Clear and concise communication skills
Desirable
- Experience of working within a busy IT Department
- IAITAM certification
- ITIL Foundation V4
- CSAME (Certificate in Software Asset Management).
