.Finance Business Partner (Pet Product)
We are looking for a proactive Finance Business Partner to join our UK Finance team, based in Cardiff, to aid with performance review and supporting key decision making through insightful financial analysis for Admiral’s Pet insurance business.
As a Finance Business Partner, you will work closely with the Pet leadership and Finance teams to provide financial expertise, report on performance as well as influencing strategy. You will be responsible for budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis and ensuring appropriate and timely communication of key messaging between the product, Finance and other areas of the business.
Main Duties
- Build and maintain familiarity of developments within the Pet insurance market, assisting strategic decision making through reforecasting and scenarios
- Deliver month end performance reporting and analysis, implementing appropriate controls to maintain accuracy
- Liaise with colleagues within and outside of Finance to understand and improve the reliability of data
- Play a leading role in the annual budget and quarterly planning processes, maintaining and improving key models and preparing presentations and analysis for Senior Management, translating complex data into actionable recommendations
- Partner with various departments, such as pricing, operations and claims to assess performance, seek opportunities, aid with cost control and help to achieve more optimal use of resources
- Provide business case support to aid management decision making
- Help to identify opportunities and risks, and liaising with the business to ensure appropriate actions are taken to exploit opportunities or mitigate risks
Key Qualifications, Skills and Experience
- Senior Accountant (CIMA / ACCA / ACA) with 2 years+ post-qualified experience.
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate with, and influence, stakeholders effectively
- Commercial outlook, experience of preparing business cases, plans and/or detailed financial analysis and reports
- Naturally inquisitive and keen to learn, with a strong desire to understand the “why” behind financial data, business trends, and industry developments
- Experience of developing and maintaining financial models
- Self-motivator, pro-active in all aspects of the role
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills are essential, and proficiency in PowerPoint
