About the role

This is a fantastic opportunity to join the Admiral Pioneer Studio. As the Data Architect within Studio, you will be responsible for working with the technical teams and stakeholders across multiple Pioneer businesses to define and embed our data strategy.

Strategy| Reporting to the CTO of Admiral Pioneer and working closely with the stakeholders within the Pioneer businesses, you will work to define and embed best practice approach to data management.

Mentoring & Partnership| You will serve as a data subject matter expert to business partners, understanding key business objectives and providing technology solutions options while ensuring compliance and adherence to promoted standards and strategic data blueprints.

About you

At work you will be comfortable generating alignment with business stakeholders using non-technical language.

You will have strong yet balanced views on the data standards to implement to enable business objectives to be met whilst maintaining best practice approach.

You will want to put in place a strategy of continuous learning and iterative improvement in the data space.

A natural problem solver, you will bring a creative approach to our collaborative environment.

Knowledge and abilities

• Have a track record of designing and building large-scale data models in a commercial environment
• Have a strong understanding of best practice approach to ETL and data migration.
• Strong technical background focused on data warehousing and ETL.
• Good understanding of data related AWS services
• Have demonstrated the ability to design complex systems in an iterative and evolutionary manner.
• Are passionate about enabling other developers through your leadership and driving teams to efficient decisions.
• Comfortable in getting your hands dirty as the need arises.
• Passionate about application of technology for building impactful solutions
• Have the ability to balance long-term objectives with urgent short-term needs
• Have a Bachelor's degree in a computer science or relevant experience

Experience

• A hands on Data Architect with good knowledge of Snowflake
• Strong RDS and NoSQL datasource design
• Experience of  query optimisation
• Knowledge of AWS services including: S3, Glue (Crawlers, ETL, Catalog), IAM, CodePipeline, CodeCommit, CloudFormation (or Terraform), CloudTrail, CloudWatch, AWS Config, Guard Duty, Secrets Manager, KMS, EC2, Kinesis, DynamoDB, Athena, Redshift.
• Experience of Tableau
• Understanding of security design for enterprise software systems - Desirable

Additional Information
Due to Covid the whole Admiral Pioneer team is working remotely. We will provide you with everything you need to work comfortably from home. 
We expect you to be working remotely for the foreseeable future, however, after it's safe to return to the office, we have days when the whole team comes together. You can choose how many days you can be in the office as long as we see your face from time to time.
