Position overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled UX/UI Designer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be passionate about understanding user needs, solving complex problems, and creating intuitive, user-centric designs that drive business objectives.
Key requirements:
- Lead and participate in workshops and exercises to uncover user needs, pain points, and insights.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product owners, engineers, and other designers, to define project goals and priorities.
- Conduct user research, including interviews, surveys, and usability testing, to inform design decisions and validate assumptions.
- Develop user personas, journey maps, and other artefacts to articulate user needs and behaviours.
- Translate research findings into actionable design solutions, including wireframes, high-fidelity designs and prototypes.
- Conduct usability testing and analyse user feedback to continuously improve the user experience.
- Advocate for the user throughout the design process, ensuring that designs are accessible, inclusive, and meet the needs of diverse user groups.
- Stay current on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in UX/UI design.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Excellent knowledge and experience of designing and prototyping in Figma.
- A passion for continuous learning and improving your knowledge and understanding within your discipline.
Qualifications and experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in design, or related field.
- 3+ years of experience in UX/UI design, with a strong portfolio showcasing design thinking methodologies and problem-solving skills.
- Experience working collaboratively with product and engineering teams.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate design decisions and rationale to stakeholders.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with a passion for solving complex problems and advocating for user needs.
- Experience with accessibility standards and guidelines.
- Experience with user testing platforms is a plus.
- Experience working in an Agile environment is a plus.

Location: This role is a hybrid working role with a requirement to come to our Cardiff office twice per month.

Salary, Benefits, and Work-Life Balance
