Underwriter

Admiral Money is a fast-paced part of the Admiral Group. We launched into personal loans and car finance in 2017 and have ambitious targets for both.  

To support this vision, we are looking for underwriters to join our ever-growing team, responsible for taking referrals through the full application cycle; from dealing with pre-submission queries, to reviewing documents and making a final decision.

Key Accountabilities

• Checking applications meet the criteria of the requested product, assessing proof of ID, credit history, proof of income, affordability, etc. in accordance with company and FCA guidelines to ensure the applicant has a fair outcome on a suitable product.
• Complete referrals within personal mandate level, ensuring quality procedures adhered to and that all cases comply with stated policies/guidelines
• Ensure KPIs and workload is serviced to internal timeframes
• Complete outbound calls assisting with the progress of applications (KYC)
• Other duties as required

Skills & Experience

• High attention to detail with strong literacy, numeracy, and analytical skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills at all levels
• Sensitivity when dealing with confidential information
• Experience working fraudulent cases (CIFAS) and motor underwriting would be beneficial
• Understanding of E2E customer application process would be beneficial
• Previous expertise in a similar financial services role

Working Hours

• 37.5 hours per week
• Monday – Friday
• 1 in 4 Saturdays
