The Tech Supplier Manager plays a key role in delivering Admiral’s Tech Supplier Management Programme. Working in partnership with our supplier’s representatives, colleagues and other key internal stakeholders, they are responsible for creating, improving and optimising value from our suppliers as well as providing assurance, governance and compliance related to service, risk, commercial and cyber. Their actions ensure third party suppliers are governed appropriately, allowing Admiral to achieve ambitious business and technical goals, while reducing supply chain risk.

The team is seeking a new Tech Supplier Manager, as a result of an increase in scope, and responsibilities aligned to regulatory policy.

Main Duties 

  • Building and maintaining, positive and productive relationships with suppliers, continually driving value, and ensuring alignment with department and business objectives.
  • Ensuring service and contract obligations are understood and adhered to on an ongoing basis, and supported by detailed evidence (reports, meetings and minutes) inline with policy.
  • Working with internal teams to understand current and future activity, focus and priorities; translating to supplier strategies, reviewing and influencing accordingly.
  • Chairing and attending regular Supplier Management Reviews, both internal and external.
  • Acting as a point of escalation for supplier issues and relationship queries along with prioritising, addressing and communicating resulting actions appropriately as necessary.
  • Engaging in a culture of continuous improvement and driving initiatives through to completion. Identifying underperforming suppliers and implementing improvement plans.
  • Working with internal service management, governance and support teams (i.e. Procurement, Project, ITAM, Transition, Legal, Finance) to improve service, manage risk, and provide aligned guidance.
  • Owning, prioritising and progressing Service Management activities to ensure they deliver intended value (i.e. Risk, Problem, CSI), updating the Management Team where appropriate and making considered amendments where required.
  • Updating and maintaining records and documentation where required. Reporting to internal teams periodically via various methods including dashboards.
  • Assisting with the delivery of internal and external projects representing IT Supplier Management.
  • Maintaining an understanding and awareness of internal and external policy, and roles responsibilities to maintain compliance.
  • Assisting the Function Manager in the delivery of service and other ad-hoc duties as required.

  • Self-motivated, comfortable taking ownership of tasks and building relationships with external suppliers, internal stakeholders and technical teams.
  • Ability to effectively organise and follow process, challenge where appropriate, whilst working with accuracy and retaining relevant records.

  • Numerate and analytical with an eye for detail, able to identify trends in data, distilling outcomes and constructing data-rational business cases.
  • Able to work to consistently to process and with a high level of accuracy.

Desirable Experience

  • Tech environment and Service Management Processes.
  • Cyber / Information Security knowledge and experience.
  • General Risk and Compliance, Vendor or Third-Party Risk experience.
  • Contractual, commercial or procurement environments,
  • Procurement and legal documents and practises.

Salary, Benefits, and Work-Life Balance

We do not have a set salary for this position, as it will be dependent on the successful candidate’s experience. We are happy to see CVs from all candidates who meet the requirements and will be happy to discuss the remuneration package.
