Senior Risk Executive

Admiral Money is an exciting, new division of Admiral Group. We have the freedom and innovation of a small start up with the security of a large parent company, Admiral. 

The journey started when we launched unsecured personal loans in June 2017. We went on to be the first direct to consumer car finance provider in December 2017. Since then, we have gone from strength to strength and have some exciting plans for the future.

We’re looking for people who are keen to learn, excited about getting stuck in and are ready for a challenge to help us to achieve our aim of creating a special lending business for our customers.

Role Purpose

This role is vital in ensuring the effective implementation of risk management practices in Admiral Money. You’ll need to forge and maintain close working relationships with first line colleagues, our counterparts in the Admiral Group, the Head of Operational Risk and other members of the Admiral Money CRO team.

Responsibilities

• Training first line colleagues in the Admiral Money RMF disciplines and processes
• Supporting first line colleagues with RMF processes such as Risk & Control Register completion, logging risk events and Key Risk Indicator (KRI) production.
• Monitoring first line adherence to the Admiral Money RMF processes
• Ensuring the Risk Management System is up-to-date
• Producing excellent Admiral Money Risk Management Committee packs
• Liaising with Group Risk & Compliance colleagues
• Supporting the Head of Operational Risk in development and maintenance of the Admiral Money Risk Management Framework (RMF)

Skills and experience

• You will have experience of concepts like risk identification and assessment, risk reporting, internal control and control testing/risk reviews
• You will be used to building and fostering strong relationships
• Ideally you will previously have worked in the Financial Services industry
• You would benefit from having experience of a recognised Risk Management System
• Preferably, you hold or are working towards a recognised risk management or internal audit qualification (e.g. IRM, IIA, etc.)
• You will have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Proficient with MS Office, particularly Excel, PowerPoint and Word

Location

We are working in a hybrid approach and so are in the office once per week in Cardiff. However, we are open to discussing flexibility around this (UK only). We will provide you with everything you need to work comfortably from home.
