Senior Pricing Analyst

We're looking for a Senior Pricing Analyst – Commercial Motor Insurance to join our newly formed team at Admiral Pioneer!

About the role

Please note: this is a hybrid role based in our Cardiff office 1-2 times per week.

As a Senior Pricing Analyst, you will be responsible for analyzing and developing pricing models for commercial motor insurance products. This role is highly autonomous, offering the opportunity to have a direct influence on the pricing strategy and overall success of the business. Your insights and analyses will contribute to data-driven decision-making, guiding the development and execution of pricing strategies that support business growth and profitability.

Key Responsibilities:

• Pricing Strategy & Analysis: Lead the development, implementation, and optimization of pricing models for commercial motor insurance products. Conduct detailed pricing analyses to ensure competitiveness and profitability across various lines of business.
• Data Analysis: Utilize advanced data analytics to evaluate historical trends, identify emerging risks, and assess market conditions to inform pricing decisions.
• Model Development & Testing: Design, validate, and refine pricing models and tools, applying industry best practices and cutting-edge technology.
• Collaboration & Communication: Partner with cross-functional teams (e.g., underwriting, product development, risk management) to provide strategic pricing insights and recommendations.
• Reporting & Presentation: Develop and present pricing reports, dashboards, and presentations to senior stakeholders, clearly communicating findings and strategic recommendations.
• Market Research: Stay informed about market trends, competitor activities, and regulatory changes to ensure that pricing strategies remain competitive and compliant.
• Leadership Development: Over time, you will have the opportunity to take on additional leadership responsibilities, with the potential to grow into a Head of Pricing role as the team expands.

Required Skills & Experience

• 3-5 years of experience in pricing analysis, preferably in the commercial insurance sector.
• Strong knowledge of pricing models and data analytics within the insurance industry.
• Experience with statistical tools and software (e.g., R, Python, SQL, Excel) for data analysis and model development.
• Strong problem-solving skills with a proven ability to analyze complex datasets and make data-driven recommendations.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present complex analyses to non-technical stakeholders.
• Ability to work independently and drive projects forward with minimal supervision.
• Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Desirable skills

• Experience with pricing optimization tools or machine learning techniques for pricing.
• Understanding of commercial insurance products and underwriting principles.
• Experience in a start-up or rapidly growing team environment would be beneficial.
