Job Description

  • We’re looking for a self-motivated and talented individual to join the AFSL Operational Risk Team. We’re a small, fun and flexible team within the wider Chief Risk Officer structure.
  • You’ll report to our Risk Manager and have a chance to influence all levels in our flat and open company.
  • With a solid understanding of risk and control, and preferably technology and data-related risks, you’ll help your colleagues identify, measure, monitor, manage and report risk across the business.
  • You’ll be excited to join an entrepreneurial loans business with big ambitions in a FTSE 100 Group!

 

Main Duties

•             Supporting AFSL management with risk and control self-assessment

•             Logging risk events and performing root cause analysis

•             Identifying and analysing emerging risks

•             Testing the effectiveness of key controls and reporting the results

•             Planning and delivering risk and control training

•             Providing risk management advice to project teams / agile squads

•             Supporting our Risk Management Committee

•             Producing risk-related MI

 

Key Skills, Qualifications and Experience:

•             Previous experience in a risk management setting

•             Strong regulatory and relevant industry knowledge

•             Self-motivated and organised individual

•             A numerate and analytical mindset

•             Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

•             Strong influencing and persuasion skills

•             Able to build open relationships and gain consensus with all internal stakeholders

•             Ability to work independently and proactively

•             Able to multi-task and work under pressure

•             Proficient with MS Office, particularly Excel, PowerPoint and Word

 

Desirable:

•             Understanding of technology and data-related risks

•             IRM (or equivalent) qualified, working towards it, or with an ambition to achieve it

•             Degree-level education

On the 8th of November, our very own Admiral Academy hosted their 5th International Learning and Development (L&D) Conference. Over 150 training professionals came together from all corners of the business to collaborate, share best practise, network and most importantly celebrate success. The day kicked off with the amazing Admiral Inspire Choir and an opening speech from Head of People Services and Head of Learning and Development.
