The Role

The QA Test Engineer role is designed to support the tech portfolio of projects by ensuring all products are designed and implemented following the most efficient and controlled QA procedures. Working as part of a cross functional team you will input into requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, test case design and execution.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and curious individual, who can think creatively to solve problems and meet user requirements. You must have a keen interest in testing and quality assurance, applying shift-left, test-first principles with hands on experience of manual and automated testing.

As we work within an Agile framework, we are looking for someone who can work both independently and as part of their cross functional team within a fast-paced and changing environment. This requires an individual who can deliver to agreed timelines, communicating effectively, leading by example, and thinking innovatively.

Experience of working in an integrated team, refining, and prioritising a backlog and delivering in an Agile methodology is a must with a willingness to perform manual and automated testing as required.

Main Duties

• Cover manual and automated testing as required across the Veygo systems and processes
• Work with the cross functional teams and help to enhance the current automation testing in place
• Ability to input into User Story creation with detailed acceptance criteria that can then be used as a Test Basis to write and execute comprehensive, thorough, and effective test cases and regression suites
• Being able to work effectively within the Agile methodology and participate fully in sprint ceremonies, communicating back to team on sprint progress, blockers etc.
• Ability to record, report, analyse and manage defects found during testing and manage through to closure
• Support the deployment of changes into the production environment and aid in the investigation of live issues or incidents

Experience

• Experience of testing complex Technology projects through to completion, resulting in delivery of robust and high-quality applications
• Proven QA experience including system, functional, acceptance, and non-functional testing of web applications, apps, and services
• Automation experience using tools such as Selenium, Cypress, or similar
• Experience providing coaching and transferring knowledge to other members of the team
• Essential skills
• Manual and Automated testing across all test phases
• Strong Communication skills
• Mobile App testing
• GUI testing
• API testing
• Experience of working in an Agile methodology
• Experience in using tracking tools such as ADO

Desirable skills

• Experience with CI/CD tools such as CircleCI
• Java script / Type Script
• Experience with App and Cross Browser Testing tool such as Browserstack.
• Experience with API tools such as Postman and SoapUI

Qualifications (preferable but not mandatory)

• ISTQB Certified Tester
• ISTQB Test Automation Engineer
